News is saying the president is planning a Texas trip on Tuesday. Wonder if he'll make all the way to flood areas?

I'm looking to help out. No boat, no jacked up truck, and I'm in Sugar Land. Anyone know any way to help out?
Exactly. HEB in our area was open, limited staff busting their humps to help everyone. Good bull HEB.Agz_2003 said:
And this is why I continue to shop at HEB. Good company, good neighbors, good people and good products. Great Texas company. Kudos to HEB for helping Texans in such a trying time.
We need as many bats as possible to eat all the skeeters that all this standing water will produce.Seersucker Ag 2011 said:
People on 13 worried about the Waugh bats. Okay.

Called the main coordination line volunteering to bring our boat from Dallas and they said they were good. Hope we can help but understand.

do you live in a surveyed flood zone?dubi said:I hope that is not true.Silky Johnston said:
Is it true that if an area is declared a natural disaster that you can receive FEMA money for flood damages even if you don't have flood insurance? I feel like I heard for the 2015 flood.
Otherwise why should I pay every single year for flood insurance then others folks get a free ride during a catastrophe?
the time to help is after the water is gone. A lot of people are going to need help picking up the pieces. The Original AG 76 said:serious answer....Seersucker Ag 2011 said:

STAY HOME. I was just on the phone with a friend on Ed E's staff to see if I could help. He said that unless you have rescue equipment or rescue training they ask that we just stay home, there will be plenty of ops to help in the coming MONTHS !!!
I am outside an 100 year flood zone but we have periodic issues with severe street flooding during heavy rains. I am concerned an event like Harvey will flood my home so I voluntarily buy flood insurance.Jon H. Checking in from Kingwood. The 500 year plain seems to be okay. Not sure how the 100 year folks are doing because we aren't going out. Lost power for a few hours so far. We appear to be winning the Houston rain derby, with more on the way. Really wondering when they'll decide to empty Lake Conroe on us.
