A quick glance at surly shows little to no concern.

The common theme is "Texas basically sells itself."

The "Texas sells itself" thinking is why they haven't played for a major sport national title in 15(?) years while A&M, TCU, tech, Baylor, and Houston have.

Now do winning a championship in a major sport

I saw an article before the MLB season started that stated if Vitello was successful with the Giants, teams might try and hire Jay Johnson as a manager. Obviously Vitello's circus in SF will give MLB teams some pause.

Could have been a ton of different things. I think he and Earley both have 13 year old kids now that used to play in the same league together. Maybe that's it.

College Station might just be a better place for him and his family at this time. I wont speculate, and I am grateful to have Coach Cain back in the dugout. He is phenomenal, and I said that even when he left us, trying to describe how much of an impact it would have to our club.

Either way, seems that Cain wants to be here in Aggieland and help Earley build, which is great no matter how you try and slice it.

I think sip was more shocked than we were, which says quite a bit, and maybe more, about how POS treats his staff.

My next question is what happens to Max Weiner? If all is well on the 40 acres, peace. I dont think that is the case.
i'm sorry i dont laugh at the right times.

ummm a few thoughts....

1. this guy dragged us when he was here AND when he left.
2. He could have had any head coach job he wanted.
3. Why would he come back here for 1 year unless he was made promises? earley has 1 year left on contract and i havent heard any talk of an extension.
4. Who coaches third?
5. What does Cain tell recruits after the last 3 years of going back and forth? "Yeah I said this but i didnt mean it. its all good now" . sweet credibility and way to build relationships. Speaking of Recruiting... does anyone remember burner phones and recruiting for Texas while at A&M? Raise your hand.
6. How well are we going to do recruiting, with a coach with 1 year left on contract?
7. There are only 3 scenario's here.
A. He reached out because unhappy at Texas. - no chance in hell because he would just take the UH job.
B. Trev hired him a long time ago in anticipation of Earley having a bad year. - So; 12 months from now we look dumb for not keeping Earley if he has a good year. or we look dumb for not getting rid of him fast enough. This screams we have no faith in Mike. So then the talk will be why didnt we get rid of him earlier (when we hired nolan cain)?
C. Earley is about to take another job. Probably a AAA hitting coach or an illinois/indiana school (i forget where he is from) that gives him more stability while his kids grow up. The uncertainty about leaving after next year vs him choosing where to go now is probably easier to manage. Recruiting will be tough and how motivated would you be knowing there is no confidence in you from your admin.

IMO...C is the only answer that makes sense. Cain should not be coaching under Earley. He knows it and Earley knows it. Schloss said it many times. "Cain will be an SEC head coach soon and he isnt going to take any job."

Good luck Coach Earley!!

Somebody go check this dude's fridge for severed heads. And explosives in his shop.

Did you hear what they found in Jeffrey Dahmer's shower?

Look at the picture of schosh and the 3 coaches when he took the job. POS and Max are smiling. Cain and Earley are not and both look uncomfortable. Cain had already signed a 2 year contract and could not back out and stay. Earley did not. The minute Cains contract was over he came home to the Texas Aggies. Had he not signed the contract in 2024 he might have been offered the head coach job here. We wanted to make sure the players stayed and the did.

Cain is an outstanding recruiter and tu didn't want to lose him. College Station is a better place to raise a family than the People's Republic of Austin.
