Correct. And Iowa State last played in 1999(?) or so. Just pointing out that CU never made a CWS trip when they did play ball. The CWS participants used to be decided on a truly regional basis. Colorado State went to the CWS in 1950 and Northern Colorado made 10(!!!) CWS appearances between 1952 and 1974.

Me too. Never Seemed to get on track this season. Pitching particularly seemed to be a problem.

After battling back to take a 6-5 lead in the 8th against UAB, Rice pitching falls apart in a 6-9 loss. Still an overall solid season for the Owls in their first full season under David Price (much better than anything since Uncle Wayne's penultimate season).

I can see where it might be tough to keep players but they've thrived on coaching guys up.

My point/question was did they have a scholarship competitive advantage prior to the end of the 11.7 rule? I would be surprised if they didn't.

Many of the better private schools were essentially offering 30+ scholies when the public schools were limited to 11.7. so the elimination of the 11.7 limit evened the playing field and really hurt the private schools because they no longer had this massive advantage that big public schools couldn't match.

Yes NIL is big. But being able to fill out the bottom half of your roster with good players is equally as important. Those guys aren't getting a lot of NIL. But a free education is still a pretty darn good deal. Way better than playing for free.

Tarleton St wins the WAC Tournament for their first NCAA D1 Tournament appearance. I assume they'll either end up at Olsen or the Disch. The Texans defeated sippie eariler this season.
