I'm not saying we should, or shouldn't, discontinue it... but if I were the next player it was offered to I'd say, "actually coach, my lucky number is ___, so thanks but no thanks."

And as long as that blank isn't filled in with #12 I'd be a-okay.

We have no idea if the players believe in it or not. All we know is #12 has had either a career worst year or gotten injured in 4 straight seasons now. I don't think it's a stretch to say they may also be thinking it.
