Personally don't think a regional appearance should save his job but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Pretty sure you are not going to have to worry about that one.
The regional appearance or him being extended?

Yeah, I am going to listen to some rando poster on texags vs Kendall Rogers.

He's isn't coming back unless he gets to regional.
I know all these "insiders" try to make a living by "being in the know"....but if you think people that make these decisions give them any information your naive.

Kendall Rogers might not have heard it from Trev himself, but these things are almost never kept perfectly under wraps. I'm sure if Trev has started gauging interest from current coaches and agents that Kendall has received word from them himself due to his connections in the industry.

Of course it's not perfect, but it's not pure guess work like some of us here. His estimations will still always have a better chance of being true than almost any poster here, even if they have a connected source or two.
Your imagination is mighty…
You don't think Kendall Rogers has real insight into the goings on in the world of College Baseball?

I think some people just hold resentment against him because D1 baseball kept the sips at #1 following getting swept against Arky.

Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with their rankings, to say he isn't connected enough to hear rumblings of a coaching change before it actually happens is just silly.

Either that or people are just bitter he didn't report on Schloss possibly leaving early enough when Schloss himself was telling him straight up that he wasn't leaving.

You can't compare the coaching carousel to regular business. Because if that was the case, hardly any coaches would ever have another job.

Sorrell, Moss, Lamkin improved.

You can argue Kaeden improved because I do not believe Kaeden would have had the production he had the last 2 weeks of the end of the season if he played all season last year. This was Kaeden's first complete season.

Among new guys TK, Bear, Royo, McCoy, and Lyons were above expectations.

Met expectations was Henseler and Patton. Patton you can argue was above because he was the Sunday starter for 15 weeks and that just doesn't happen a lot.

Below expectations were Jace, Kash, and I hate saying that because I know Jace had too much pressure on him all year and Kash was hurt all season. Praeger was below expectations but he worked all season to finish strong.

Incomplete would be Farr, Wilson, and Freshcorn - freshman who got spun up and Wilson has been hurt. Freshcorn has had some good outings as of late and you can see it. He's a Chris Cortez starter kit.

The fact Farr even had to play as much as he did this year is evidence how much talent we were missing from last year during that stretch.

How about the fact Earley thought Farr over Roya at second first. And now Farr in LF instead of George.
I would have done the same because Farr is a higher rated prospect. He got his eyes working too fast. It happens. I still think Farr will end up being good. Royo wasn't even going to get on the field much then it happened.

Farr was a top-rated recruit and Royo played only a few games last year at Rice, coming off injury. ME made some interesting choices but this one seemed pretty straightforward at the time... I agree that Farr has the potential to be great to elite.

Today was Farr's best game of the season. He made two really good catches in left.

To add to the Farr vs Royo discourse the leash was too long for Farr at 2B. Same with Kash in LF. I get giving Farr a shot first, but Royo should have been given a chance earlier than he was.

Those two running catches were great for an infielder and TK's as well.

Sounds like you would know.

A cursory search shouldn't be too much to ask before this sort of statement; why not look into Tony Vitellos record at Tennessee when he took over?
jmac13
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You aren't making sense, Tennessee was a bad baseball
program when Tony V took over.

Earley took over a 5 star restaurant & turned it into Arby's in less than a year(To keep it simple for you a Preseason #1 to a team fighting to just be considered on the bubble)

The two situations aren't close.

On the counter argument. If you look at the lineup we had in the 7th inning on that was on the field it doesn't look at all like a roster we had coming back either.

Not saying anything about him being retained or not. Regardless I will watch Aggie baseball in 2026 but the roster isn't what people thought it would be as a preseason number 1 that we actually put on the field. Regardless I am curious as to what end of year exit interviews would say from the players. To be a fly on that wall.

What? Are you talking about starting Farr at 2nd? He wasn't going to get much playing time because Henesler was supposed to be there. Once Gavin got hurt that door was opened. We have no idea who was doing well in practice between him and Royo. I can't fault Earley for starting a kid who took his name out of the draft to come to A&M. According to you I guess a lot of people in the business missed on Farr. I still think Farr can develop.

There is a difference between the way Schloss treated players and coaches like Tony Vitello who is able to manage not being a massive dick to his own players and still demanding excellence.

jmac13
How long do you want to ignore this user?
& yeh you are right, but for a good chunk of SEC play (including the dreadful Mizzou series) we were full up offensively minus grahovac.

The injury thing has obviously been a problem, but I think it would be such a mistake to use that as an excuse for this abomination of a season. Yes we had guys out at different times, but not near enough to do this kind of damage.

jmac13
How long do you want to ignore this user?
As long as you win who cares… i mentioned it in another thread.

Some of the best coaches of all time were not "nice" to players.

Schloss has changed the trajectory of 3 different programs, and no team has turned on him or came out with some damaging accusations.

I would start with a guy with a more than 3 or 4 years as a paid college assistant considering we are a top 10ish type program.

Say I get promoted to manager at a world class burger joint. In fact, they just got awarded #2 best burgers in the whole country the year prior. Many of the cooks came back this year and even some new highly regarded cooks joined the company. If anything, we should now be in the running for #1 burger this year! Then my restaurant loses to Taco Bell 3 times in a row in the local cook-off (also takes place in my restaurant's home town). Taco Bell has lost to every other restaurant in a 500 mile radius. What should happen to me?

Were they up against the traditional Crunchy Taco Supreme? those are the bomb and may explain the collapse.

Embarrassing that someone that claims to know baseball would want to keep him as head coach.
His bad decisions from lineups, defensive positioning, pitching changes, hitting approach, player positioning, coaching selection….it goes on and on.
He got a shot due to when we lost our POS coach and didn't perform.
Thank you for your effort. Now move along and hire someone that has actual coaching experience.

The fact that the team beat all the high level teams and got swept by some of the lowest tier teams points directly to poor culture and coaching.
That take doesn't hold up. This team made it to the SEC Tournament and took down some of the top programs in the country, that's not something a team with "poor culture and coaching" does. People forget coach E hasn't even had the chance to fully recruit his own players yet. A few stayed, but after all the injuries and everything that happened post-CWS last year, he did the best he could with what he had and still kept them competitive.
Yeah, they got swept by a couple lower-tier teams, but that's baseball. Teams play down to their competition all the time, even elite programs lose games they shouldn't. The key is how you respond, and this group kept showing up and fighting.
They fought through the toughest conference in the country with a young roster, injuries, and a huge part of their fan base giving up on them at the start of the season. And more importantly, they fought for their coach. That says more about the culture than anything else.

Please say you are being sarcastic. This team was a flat out embarrassment to this school. There was zero excuse for how bad they were this season. Early has no idea what he is doing and the top brass at A&M are a bunch of morons for hiring him as the head coach.
