Whether the wind is blowing in or out at Olsen NOTHING changes with the big bats approach at the plate. They know the wind is likely to keep the ball in the park, but still hammering for the fence

Jace is at least hitting the ball now. I don't think we ask him to change from 100+ MPH exit velos with elevation. I think that's exactly what we want him to do.Killzone3abc said:
He's hitting .250 with a .420 something OBP. If he turned some of thes F7/8/9 into hits he could easily be sitting around. 320 BA with .500 OBP. Has to be better.
The wind deal is overblown (ba dum tsss) on the team performance but it's certainly had a massive impact on Jace's numbers so far. Is it worth asking him to change something now knowing the rising temps and changing winds are coming?
Mine too but it's a bit chilly.

Yeh. Ifs and buts. But, that's not the case. We all, and the team itself, have to stop making excuses. No more north wind or that would have been home runs. Time to get back to basics and embrace the grind. We definitely are not who we thought we were. But, if we grind, we can still be who we want to be by the end of the season.

His numbers will skyrocket with nuetral or favorable wind if he keeps doing what he is doing. I just don't like your biggest bat swinging for the fences in conditions he knows will hold it in the park. I agree the wind is a weak excuse for the rest of the poor performers. Still need significant improvement if we want a regional bid atp.

If the wind is blowing from the N or W next weekend Bama will easily take the series.
Good to see fielding improve and another good outing from Patton. Fielding was much improved this series but our bullpen is a complete disaster.
We could maybe get by with the starters and an iffy pen with a superior offense. We don't have that - at all. We have 3 very good college hitters in kent, Hensler and TK. Jace is only swinging for the fences, while he does draw walks, apparently he can't or refuses to try and hit line drives to be a more effective two hole hitter. Certainly seems like this approach affects the rest of the lineup because everyone else seems only concerned with trying to hit hr's. As a result, this team can't play small ball and manufacture runs - seems like a very selfish way to play baseball. The results are what they are. Looks like SEC play is going to be ugly unless this team gets serious about playing team baseball and the leaders start acting like they give a crap.

There is no way that Texas A&M shouldnt sweep a home series vs New Mexico State. Especially after a 19-0 win in the opener. This was an ugly loss. … to go along with the many we have already acquired.
We can not depend on favorable winds to carry this team.
Game 1 was so outstanding. Game 2 was good. Game 3 just completely stripped the good two previous performances. Disappointing to say the least.

Without our disappointing start I would be here also since games like this do happen to good teams from time to time. In general I don't think the Aggies played poorly today: ABs in the first half of the game were mostly good, solid defense and once again very good starting pitching which should have been enough to get the W. Still. this L is deflating for me. Almost wish we had a more difficult midweek to accurately see how the team bounces back. PVAM will tell me nothing no matter how well the team plays Tuesday.StinkyPinky said:

Ags gave up 4 runs. That's usually a win. Ags hit tons of hard shots right at people. Unlucky. Baseball. Keep grinding and move on. Hopefully, Sorrell gets good news on his Tuesday MRI and provides a boost to the start of SEC play.

Let's be real, we've had 3 or 4 strong games. We've had 6 bad games.
We don't have room for the "but it almost was a homerun" or "it was a really good hit but to the wrong spot"

Bad loss.
I can't do the weather excuse lol. The other team legit played in the same conditions. We are a sub par baseball team but I still have hope we get hot. As of now I'm just hoping we win 30 percent of sec games.
