I get what Shane is saying, but I feel like his post is somewhat indicative of a bigger problem within the baseball program. Social media being hyper-negative to a sports team that is underperforming is as common as the sun rising. Not saying it's right or anything, just that it is SO common on the internet. With so many experienced players on our team, I'd hope they can block it all out, ignore it if necessary, and focus on figuring out how to win games again.

We all are frustrated. We all vent but what was posted by a few and defend by few more last night was embarrassing (and regulars to this board know how much I loathe that word in context of Aggie sports). Just because most of those on the team now get nicely compensated these days does not mean that they should have to endure the abuse of anonymous keyboard warriors upset that the team is not living up to the preseason hype. It is not these players fault that A&M has not won a Natty in a sport that "matters" in forever. Then again I suspect those with the ugliest comments wouldn't really care other than POS leaving for Austin. It was telling how much more traffic we saw on the board because of this than we saw during last year's Omaha run.

And they're gonna find out later in life that criticism and competition, and useless dickbags who do nothing but criticize are a part of life whether you get paid to play a game or not.

This is a game, and the win-loss record is what matters.

People who personally attack players on social media are pathetic, but I'm really over this idea that being a good Aggie means walking on eggshells and doing backflips if some 20-year old contract player should happen to look your way after blowing another ****ing game.

The era of fan-blaming should have ended when the last coach shot everyone the finger.

I'm sure it's frustrating when a jock goes to social media immediately after a loss hoping to see if any thirsty hoes or rich old jock sniffing boosters are sliding into their DM's to plan a trip to Vegas or another "endorsement" deal, and instead find the 65-year old former band nerd talking ***** But they need to handle adversity and stay focused on what matters.

If you really do know Shane personally (which would mean that you know how bad every single person in that dugout wants to win) then it seems odd that you would be putting gas on a fire type situation with speculation....win, lose or tie I will always support the team. Sounds like the players need to stay off social media, or at least not read comments about the team. I'm sure there are Aggies making ignorant, childish and insulting comments. But I bet many comments come from people that do not root for the Aggies. Social media is an open field for anyone to make comments and take shots. Ultimately it's up to the players and especially the coaches to keep grinding and things will either fall into place or they won't. Comments on social media should have no place in the calculus of how to start playing better.

Let's not be an ass and tell someone he's a waste of oxygen because of said game they are playing. This wasn't about criticism of the play of the field. There was some awful stuff posted.

They absolutely should heed Lance's advice of staying off socials and ignoring the hate, but they have friends and family that see it even if they personally do choose to stay off.

And I appreciate Shane sticking up for his buddies that are out their busting their butts and not having a. lot of fun right now. Anyway, that's my last of this topic. Hopefully a non-issue going forward.

My goodness the amount of BS being excused because these guys earn some NIL money (which they very much deserve) is ridiculous. They deserve the criticism but within limits. Let's not make it personal. The body language and the approach has been what's bad, not just the results.

Perhaps an apology from the AD as they got setup. Schloss may be an Ass but being clueless is not an excuse.

Ever see what.happens when a pro team does not play well. Ever wonder why pros don't pay attention to the media. When you start getting a check things change.

I hope I'm wrong, but he hasn't given me an indication yet, that I am.

My favorite part is the whole "they're paid" bit. As if they weren't doing this same toxic *****ing before. Yes, they're paid. And they're accountable to their coach. And their coach is accountable to the AD. Who is accountable to reagents and whatnot. Meaning the idea that "fans not being pissy enough is why we never win" is laughable.

Funny enough, whiners on Texags are not who they're accountable to. The whiners just want a place to vent because they didn't get their way/their team didn't win.

-A) essentially held the AD hostage when Schloss left (all in looking out for "themselves")
-B) begged and pleaded to have Earley, a first year head man, be brought back as their HC

Yeah, there's going to be a lot of things said when you're on the verge of losing 5 straight to very sub par teams and going from #1 to unranked in a weeks time. This is their time to put up or shut up. And right now they aren't doing a very good job of putting up.
