Will I be able to buy season tickets without having to wait on a waiting list for 5+ years?

Have you been donating and earning priority points? If not then no
Yup. An increase to 10,000 will still leave a lot of folks that want seats on the outside looking in. I guess it is a good thing to have demand still exist, but I can say that since I have season tickets. I really think we need to expand to 12,000, but I realize that would leave a lot of empty seats for non-SEC or even mid-SEC games. But, it generates $$$ for the athletic program.
I do not think the demand will be as high for season tickets as people think it will be. My opinion, which could be wrong, is that most Ags living out of town only want to come to 1-2 series a season.

Would love to be proven wrong.

Average attendance is up almost 10% over the past two years, and I think that trend will continue this year. Since the SEC games were probably pretty close to capacity already, I'd bet most of that is coming from non-con and weekday games. We need to go to 10K minimum.

It isn't great for the atmosphere, but I think there are ton's of old Ags in Houston/Austin/SA/Dallas willing to buy season tickets and miss most of the games. I don't think selling tickets is going to be an issue.

Post-renovation, the weekend record was set at 20K in 2022 vs. Arkansas. We topped that 4x last season (3 in SEC play and the regional). We topped 7K in single-game attendance 17x. IDK what the correct # is but there needs to be a significant increase.

Right now, we've got between 4,00 and 4,500 seats in the grandstand. We sell about 3,000 season tickets, the rest of the seats going toward player comps (home and visitors) and GA, so somewhere over 1,000. I think we would be pushing it to add another 3,000 seats in foul territory down the 3rd base line (which is where they need to be added if they are going to be sold as season tickets), although we could probably add 3,000 in the outfield and by converting the first base berm.

I think we could sell 6,000 season tickets, but a fair number of them would go to out of towners. I'd be interested to see how many stick with it long term. As someone who's had season tickets since 1990 despite living 3 hours or more away for the vast majority of that time, it's hard to make every series, because they are all road games for you. My guess is that you would see a lot of these folks not renew after a season or two unless the resale market remains really strong.

If we are doing it right, we're not going to build a bunch of armchair seats that we can't sell as season tickets, because if you do that, you are going to end up undercutting the value of season tickets and generating less revenue. I know that there are folks that want to be able to buy good reserved seats for one or two weekends a year at face value, but that's never going to happen unless season ticket sales crater, or we vastly overbuild.

This is the BCS minor league baseball team but with a season that is over early summer. Locals must support it but generally alumni direct. More seats if nice and concessions don't suck avd we maximize per seat revenue (not ticket cost) then we are thinking like stadium owners.

If you wanna case study on how to do it right, start here:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/121_Financial_Ballpark

Do not pay attention to the MiLB brand avd team. That's controlled by the MLB. But research what the park does…

I think a lot of the potential overbuild can be solved with creative ticket solutions. I wish they had packages were you could 1 game per weekend. I'd love to see them do a pilot type program on this. I guarantee those tickets would have sold out and at a higher price.

I think a lot of people would be interested (multiple games in a weekend is tough, especially if you have kids playing sports). Some of the benefits would likely be increased revenue and an increased fan base (which could increase NIL). Aggie baseball games are awesome fan experiences...Would be smart to expose as many different families as possible to Olsen.

If we overbuild, wouldn't the price of season tickets go down? In that case, people will buy full season tickets on the cheap, and try to sell the games they can't make.

Yes, if you overbuild it you'll reduce ticket prices.

I am saying don't overbuild it but you can figure out ways to sell tickets to reduce the overbuild risk. I.e., Sell me 1 ticket to every weekend series. Find 2 more of me and one local for Tuesday.. You could probably nearly double your revenue if it takes off. You don't have to do the whole stadium like this. They should experiment now with things like this.

Add some more suites. Think about splitting those up similar to the above idea. Maybe keep 1 open for rent on a game by game basis. I think it could work.

They should have the data on the resell market. Secondary SEC prices can be very, very high. That's money the university is leaving on the table.

For a while when I lived in Round Rock, we had"Friday night fireworks" season tickets for the Round Rock Express. Basically one game a weekend.

They had a neat feature where you could swap tickets you couldn't use for other games. Never really close to selling out, so we may not want to be in a situation where tickets are available for people to swap around, but maybe swap reserved for GA or something. If you make people trade in the tickets in advance, they could resell the reserved seats at the gate.

I agree. I just want to see people put money where their mouth is. I have been doing this a long time my friend.

Everybody wants season tickets to Aggie baseball. Until they have to pay for them. And trust me, it will be a much higher price tag after renovations. My experience is most Ags who live outside of CS want to come to one or two series a year. And sit in lower deck seats for face value. That is unsustainable.

Agree with you. Until we had a gameday house we were only able to attend 1-2 games per weekend series. Before that we were happy to just pick up a few games per season (at a premium price).

With that said, we still have not moved seats in several seasons since everyone is renewing and options are fairly limited. Plus we like the people we sit next to.

I used to drive for Tuesday and Wednesday games, and back and forth to all three weekend games. That was a lot of driving I did for years. Like you, we bought a townhouse which made things much easier.

I won't be in a position to buy season tickets for a minute, with two under 5. I'll get there hopefully, but I'm lucky to make it back to town for more than half a dozen games right now. I'm not even talking from a ticket perspective, but from an atmosphere and aesthetics perspective. We can't keep on with the tin bleachers on the left field line and outfield. Looks terrible.

Agree but every stadium in the SEC has them. Mighty LSU Alex Box is like 60% ugly aluminum bleachers. And the only places I have been to that gets to our atmosphere are at Arkansas and LSU.

Bleaches in the outfield are fine. IMO, we just need to fill
In the third base line with seats…chair backs, add some premium seats, some suites. Keep the bleachers in the outfield..expand if needed. Tackle first baseline later.

I was excited when I got my email to have a chance to get my tickets back that lapsed in 2019, but I never got the chance to even try as it sold out. Now I'm a local, I'd be at the park ever darn game but alas I have to search Texags Forum for seats every game!

It definitely needs to expand significantly. I got lucky to pick up a couple of season tickets 10 yrs ago and I've been trying since then to add a couple so my retired dad can come but with no success. I also have friends in town who would love season tickets and who would make most games but who can't even sniff the list right now.

I am curious on how many priority points it took this year to get tickets. I'm in the 2300 range (points, not rank)...and was a few hours late. Was actually surprised I was relatively close to getting seats.

I would think the more you grow the student fanbase now the more you ultimately grow the former student fanbase which will fund future NIL and improvements. I wouldn't want to use those other schools as the bar to clear, I'd like to make Olsen so far out in front of them that it isn't even close.

I think it is a balance of course, but I think quite a bit more of the 1st Base/Right Field foul line seating that catches much more sun could be expanded to seat quite a few more students (In addition to any outfield berms) where as the 3rd Base/Left Field foul line seating that is in the shade more quickly would hopefully be expanded down to foul pole to significantly increase the season ticket seating available.
Any 18-22 kid turned off by hot sun, cold beer (or a pre-game buzz for the <21 crowd), and baseball is highly suspicious...
