Which year did the stadium capacity obsession start?
I do not think the demand will be as high for season tickets as people think it will be. My opinion, which could be wrong, is that most Ags living out of town only want to come to 1-2 series a season.12th Man Ag said:Yup. An increase to 10,000 will still leave a lot of folks that want seats on the outside looking in. I guess it is a good thing to have demand still exist, but I can say that since I have season tickets. I really think we need to expand to 12,000, but I realize that would leave a lot of empty seats for non-SEC or even mid-SEC games. But, it generates $$$ for the athletic program.BQ_90 said:tjack16 said:

Average attendance is up almost 10% over the past two years, and I think that trend will continue this year. Since the SEC games were probably pretty close to capacity already, I'd bet most of that is coming from non-con and weekday games. We need to go to 10K minimum.dermdoc said:I do not think the demand will be as high for season tickets as people think it will be. Would love to be proven wrong.
Post-renovation, the weekend record was set at 20K in 2022 vs. Arkansas. We topped that 4x last season (3 in SEC play and the regional). We topped 7K in single-game attendance 17x. IDK what the correct # is but there needs to be a significant increase.ReelAg6 said:Average attendance is up almost 10% over the past two years, and I think that trend will continue this year. As long as they build enough seats for me to get semi decent ones, it's enough.
If we overbuild, wouldn't the price of season tickets go down? In that case, people will buy full season tickets on the cheap, and try to sell the games they can't make.OilAg01 said:
I think a lot of the potential overbuild can be solved with creative ticket solutions. I wish they had packages were you could 1 game per weekend. I'd love to see them do a pilot type program on this. I guarantee those tickets would have sold out and at a higher price.
I think a lot of people would be interested (multiple games in a weekend is tough, especially if you have kids playing sports). Some of the benefits would likely be increased revenue and an increased fan base (which could increase NIL). Aggie baseball games are awesome fan experiences...Would be smart to expose as many different families as possible to Olsen.

Yes, if you overbuild it you'll reduce ticket prices.
I am saying don't overbuild it but you can figure out ways to sell tickets to reduce the overbuild risk. I.e., Sell me 1 ticket to every weekend series. Find 2 more of me and one local for Tuesday.. You could probably nearly double your revenue if it takes off. You don't have to do the whole stadium like this. They should experiment now with things like this.
Add some more suites. Think about splitting those up similar to the above idea. Maybe keep 1 open for rent on a game by game basis. I think it could work.
They should have the data on the resell market. Secondary SEC prices can be very, very high. That's money the university is leaving on the table.
I agree. I just want to see people put money where their mouth is. I have been doing this a long time my friend.ReelAg6 said:Average attendance is up almost 10% over the past two years, and I think that trend will continue this year. Everybody wants season tickets to Aggie baseball. Until they have to pay for them. And trust me, it will be a much higher price tag after renovations. My experience is most Ags who live outside of CS want to come to one or two series a year. And sit in lower deck seats for face value. That is unsustainable.
Agree but every stadium in the SEC has them. Mighty LSU Alex Box is like 60% ugly aluminum bleachers. And the only places I have been to that gets to our atmosphere are at Arkansas and LSU.ReelAg6 said:dermdoc said:I agree. I just want to see people put money where their mouth is. I won't be in a position to buy season tickets for a minute, with two under 5. I'll get there hopefully, but I'm lucky to make it back to town for more than half a dozen games right now. I'm not even talking from a ticket perspective, but from an atmosphere and aesthetics perspective. We can't keep on with the tin bleachers on the left field line and outfield. Looks terrible.
Any 18-22 kid turned off by hot sun, cold beer (or a pre-game buzz for the <21 crowd), and baseball is highly suspicious...AgE Doc said:
I would think the more you grow the student fanbase now the more you ultimately grow the former student fanbase which will fund future NIL and improvements. I wouldn't want to use those other schools as the bar to clear, I'd like to make Olsen so far out in front of them that it isn't even close.
I think it is a balance of course, but I think quite a bit more of the 1st Base/Right Field foul line seating that catches much more sun could be expanded to seat quite a few more students (In addition to any outfield berms) where as the 3rd Base/Left Field foul line seating that is in the shade more quickly would hopefully be expanded down to foul pole to significantly increase the season ticket seating available.
When we have more seats you likely will get to choose some!!!OilAg01 said:
I am curious on how many priority points it took this year to get tickets. I'm in the 2300 range (points, not rank)...and was a few hours late. Was actually surprised I was relatively close to getting seats.
