Schloss said he wasn't going to leave A&M. CDC and his upside down pineapple came calling snd *poof* he's gone. So to say someone will not leave for this or that is not a good reason. This isn't the days of Frank Martin or Cliff Gustafson anymore. Loyalty left the building a long time ago..

Hopefully before the portal closes so a player or two can jump in.

That would be a fantastic hire and set the Noles back big time. I just don't see him doing it. I could see it in a few years if the NIL money is not there. For now though he is too bought in to his Alma mater. Even if you offered him $2-$3M he would stick it out for another year or two.

Really hope it's Heefner. Nothing but class in every way. Just the opposite of the lying pos that just left. He can win with less talent and below average facilities. He will make us forget about *****loser quickly.

How would he adjust to the competition level? And the recruiting of the high caliber players needed to compete at the top?
Then there's strength and conditioning….the top of the line technology….hows that look?
Then throw in the whole NIL fiasco, something he's likely never had to deal with.

Like the thought of it….just not sure it plays

He's a great recruiter and very respected by all the high school coaches. They make the playoffs almost every year, and I went and watched them play tu in the regionals a few years ago when they eliminated cow. He can compete with anyone. He's young and talented and has a son that's a player.

He does a hell of a lot with what he has at DBU. And make no mistake, DBU is a baby D1 program (young) that has greatly overachieved and is competitive every year. Hell, we used to regularly schedule them for non conference midweek and weekend series, and I remember we lost more than once.

He has several former players currently in the MLB, and consistently recruits top talent with a fraction of the resources of the rest of the Texas schools.

Done a bit more reading on Heef and have fully come around. I was a little leery of the competition level as well but I think he'd be a home run.

DBU has had 49 players drafted since 2015, which is good for 9th best in the country in that time period. He's doing something right with those kind of numbers at little tiny DBU. He can clearly recruit, develop, and coach.

Vitello IS a ****** bag. But he's a damn good coach, and doesn't seem to be a liar. He tells it like it is whether you like it or not. And he will usually say it in a way that can be described as that of a horrible human or "motivation" (if you watch Welcome to Wrexham)
