Second question if it's only at a&m -- why?

I think i just lack perspective of paying attention to other teams coaching changes, but it always seems we get embarrassed every single time.

Don't think it has anything to do with the University. Just the "quality" of the person leaving and how it's done. Again, I'm fine with him leaving but absolutely despise the way he went about it.

Exactly. Treat it like a movie or reading a book. Something that is entertaining and wastes some time, but isn't something that ruins your day or causes turmoil in your actual life.

Looking at fandom from afar these days, it is incredible the things people do when they convince themselves they have some sort of effect on the results of the game. Yelling at Kyle is one thing, but changing your behaviors at home or elsewhere is quite another.

I really began looking at things this way when my kids started playing sports, and especially when my daughter began playing open class softball. The time spent catching for her or taking notes at her or my son's hitting lessons far outweigh any joy from a win in football or baseball. I've watched/listened to several Aggie Football and Baseball games over the past couple of years while sitting in the stands at her tournaments watching her mow down hitters or hitting a 2-run double, and was on the field smiling watching my son receive a ring after his team won the tournament when A&M lost on Monday. It hurt, but not much.

And to the Texas fans that are in my DM’s or responses saying boo-hoo, Google me. You’ll get a nice little reminder.

Have you ever read social media from any other fanbases? Yes, other fans have the reactions we have. Administrators at other schools get outbid. It happens.

The way Schloss handled it is what everyone outside of A&M is talking about.

A lot of people at TCU had no love lost for him.

They aren't kids anymore. While young they are adults and now they are pro athletes. These 19 or 20 yo kids are now, in some cases, making more money than the vast vast majority of the adult population and they
are gonna be expected to be responsible when it comes to taxes and the like, We're in pro ball territory now ... not amateur hour..

You're mostly right, and have to remember that. I just enjoy sports. I miss being able to compete in sports, not that I was ever much of an athlete. I enjoy watching sports with my friends, and talking about the games with friends who are also sports fans, whether they went to A&M or not. Still enjoy that.

But it's entertainment, and I have no real investment in the hired guns. People well above my paygrade make the big decisions, and I yell at the TV with my friends and post on TexAgs. It is what it is.

But you're absolutely right that your dad and a lot of other people are far, far more important to your life than whoever is holding the press conferences this year.
