UVA coach just signed a big extension. We'd be dumb****s to hire Lemonis from state.
Hire someone who can pull players out of California. Biggest talent area for n the country by a mile. That and being in the heart of TX is the combination to win in Omaha. Former ******* proved that this year.

ACC had some good teams.
Link isn't leaving FSU. Not worth wasting time on.
Some coaches that seem like good options are Forbes from UNC, Bakich from Clemson, Pollard from Duke, Walter from Wake Forest, & Heefner from DBU. None of those are "big names" like the reporting is indicating though.
Edit to add: riskier names are Cain, Elander from UT, & Hart from Blinn. Don't think it would be any of them though.

This is spot on. I don't think it needs to be a guy out of California. But, if you want to win, you better recruit the coasts… California, Florida, Georgia in addition to Texas.
I don't think Schloss is some baseball savant. He did recruit the country much better than we have in the past and he did hire a first rate staff. But… There are a lot of coaches around the country that can do that.

College is such a different game and requires an entirely different skill set for a HC. Pro coaching is about managing a clubhouse and in-game management. So much of college baseball is roster management and player development.Killzone3abc said:

Wes Johnson adjusted fairly quickly so far. He had a year as an assistant though.
He's an OSU alum and that's a great base all job. More doable than say Link from FSU, but not likely imo.
Mingione seems like he'll be rather loyal to Kentucky. Also not a fan of the small ball crap.
