Ok kids, the day is here. We know the Regional hosts. The only questions now are what order are those seeds and who sneaks in and who gets left out!??

It looks to be like the committee really valued regular season conference titles. Does that extend to regular season conference standings as well? It also seems like there's some strong advocates on the committee. Does that bode well for a team like Coastal? There were only 2-3 bid steals (depending on whether you think St John's was on regardless) so that's helpful.

The teams to really watch for on the bubble:
- Kansas State
- UCF
- Florida
- Northeastern
- Xavier
- Charleston
- James Madison
- Georgia Tech
- Indiana
- Troy
- Cal
- Lamar
(I don't really think Lamar has a chance at #65 so I'm not going any lower than that.)

Or will the committee throw RPI out the window like they did for Arizona and ECU? Lots of mid-majors voices on the committee, does that favor Northeastern or Charleston over KState or GaTech? Oh wait, KState has someone on the committee as well, sorry Ramblin' Wreck. And Coastal... Probably doesn't deserve a bid, but has a committee member AND a much beloved coach who is retiring. Can't overlook that Disney ending.

I'm just sad that I couldn't convince Schloss to let me come to the watch party

My prediction of what the committee will do for hosts:

1. Tennessee
2. Kentucky
3. UNC
4. Arkansas
5. Texas A&M
6. Clemson
7. FSU
8. OU
9. Georgia
10. Virginia
11. Ok State
12. NC State
13. UCSB
14. Oregon State
15. Arizona
16. East Carolina

Betting on that because of their conference finish reach for hosts. Absent that I'd swap us and WooPig as well as OU and OkState. But I'd also have Oregon State at 16 behind Indiana State and Duke, so what do I know?

I'm sure a Capital gift to fund the new coaches offices would solve that little minor problem.

4 or 5 seed with sip as the 2, Cal as the 3, and whoever as the 4.

Back to the topic at hand, I think we're #4.

I don't think the sips come here because they don't want to. They are probably headed west.

Having Ags as higher seed over Arkie would make too much sense.

I think Louisiana is our 2. They're out of bus range for every other host and their logistics are more difficult than Austin. If the tourney really wants the A&M/Texas matchup they probably link us to UCSB and send Texas there. Pure metrics would say as the #3 with San Diego as the #2.

That would leave us TCU, Nicholls, Tulane, etc as a #3 all bus-able. And then maybe Grambling as our #4. Like a Louisiana-west regional perhaps.

Personally I like Texas as a 2 for Tennessee or Kentucky.

I think you're all too infatuated with Texas, but really admit that I may skew too far the other way trying to balance out your paranoia. Lord knows we've already seen sketch reaches by the committee just in their selection of ECU.

Agree. I think the sips go to UCSB and are paired with us.

And the problem with giving so much credence to conference championships in the SEC is that we all play different schedules. RPI is much more reflective of the actual team ranking.

It's worth noting that Coastal, K-State and Indiana all their AD on the selection committee. The other members are from East Carolina, Air Force, Utah, Army, and SE Louisiana.

Maybe FSU having a "voice in the room" will get them up to #5 somehow and break up the Hagen Smith logjam that I'd like to avoid.

Hey, remember how Eric Hyman was on the committee and stood up for us?

It will be interesting to see if the sips can avoid a regional with a SEC team yet again.

Funny to think they are so good at it but next year will be in the conference. No avoidance next year.

Does that make him a hero because he "followed the rules" or a coward? I'm honestly not sure.

At a minimum it seems like malpractice and I'm fine that he's found a new home
LB12Diamond

The rules

Only rules I have ever notice are that ADs typically take care of their team first. See Byrne on the basketball committee the last two years.

I forget about Indiana's A.D. on the committee

RPI #55 will probably get the Hoosiers in

And might have contributed to the screwing of Indiana State.

I think Clemson or FSU will break up A&M & Arkansas in the 4 & 5 spots

State not hosting with 17 SEC wins + 2 more in the tournament -- this committee may not be as high on the SEC as last year's committee

If we're 5th and Arky's 4th or vice versa, and both teams make it to Omaha then we see Hagen Smith in the first game of the CWS, right? Seems less than ideal.
LOYAL AG
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Final D1 has
A&M (4)
tu
Nicholls
Grambling

UCSB (13)
San Diego
Florida
Fresno State

I'd take that. We're the clear favorite in that regional and Grambling doesn't have an ace that we would worry about out being able to hit well which gives us a chance to hold Prager for game 2. Then only Florida on the other side has any experience this year in a place like Olsen so I like my chances in Supers against any of the California schools.

Well know in a couple of hours.

That's correct. Seems that's where we're headed. That's the one downside to not showing well in Hoover. Had we done what Tennessee did we could have played our way out of that matchup.

Or… had Arky done what Tennessee did, they could have avoided a Prager rematch.

Most fun morning of the year leading to the greatest weekend of the year. There's been a lot great discussion and debate on what national seed we will be, who our number two will be, and who our Supers match up will be. Thankful this is this year's discussion versus whether the Ags will make it or not, which of course will be the discussion some years. Just listened to Schloss on TexAgs Radio. If the Ags are well, I feel good about a big run coming the next few weeks. We have an elite coach running this thing. It's almost time!

Why? They're at #39 with a Top 35 SOS mostly competing for spots against teams in the 50s. Not saying it couldn't happen but it would be a departure from normal (as is a #31 host).

That would be a great draw for us. We get arguably the worst 2 seed, and we very likely dodge an SEC team in supers if we advance.

I'd take these brackets all day.
One day at a time.

Guys

Its OK to state we don't want matched up with this years Skenes.

Every single team would prefer not to be matched up with Hagen game 1.

But if we are, so be it.

This is not accurate. Even and odds get matched up in middle America.
