Well no we didn't. Kentucky will win the SEC regular season title (might share with the Vols if UT wins and UK loses tomorrow). We had to sweep pig to share in a SEC West division title. If we handed them a title it was not taking care of business the two weekends previous.

Also LSU's chances in even making the field of 64 is rather iffy right now. A win over Ole Miss tomorrow will help a lot but might still need to get a win or two in the SEC Tournament to insure an invite.

The soonest we could see LSU in the main Tournament is the Super Regional round.

Why do posters on here keep referencing this series being for the conference championship? We are in 4th, 4 games out of 1st with 1 game left. 1 game ahead of 2 other teams. Are the standings that hard to read?

Seems under current circumstances our highest probability to win at least two games in this series was to have Prager & Sdao as starters.
And, if I understand correctly, Sdao needed to wait at least until Saturday to pitch.
Imo, our team tries to win all its games, but giving ourselves the best possible chance to win games 1 & 3 in this particular series seems logical.
Maybe that's what's happening.

Hate to say it but conference titles in baseball don't mean as much. Making it to Omaha is all the matters

It just seems like our guys are definitely schooled to not swing at questionable pitches and to not make an out on the first or second pitch. This casses us to take good pitches and fail to attack pitcher's pitches when they are ahead in the count.


I think our hitting … or lack thereof … contributed mightily to the loss.
