"Attempt" is the operative word there.

You're right, much closer to MIT than Yale
Seriously, no. In my 40+ year career as a chemical engineer, the single most stupid engineering graduate I ever worked with was from MIT. I still remember the time when she asked me what the difference in a pump and a compressor was. She explained that MIT had a concept known as the "gentleman's B". If you were smart enough to get into MIT, you deserve to pass all your courses with at least a B.

Beyond that, another reason they suck is their unearned elitism. As an elitist, nothing rankles me more than people who have the mien of elitism without the credentials. The alumni and students of aTm literally think their school is Yale, when it is basically Arky, sans flagship status. They will talk your damned ear off about how academically great the school is, because you have to be in the top 10% in your Texas public school to get in. That would be like LSU students bragging about their brainpower because they got the 3.0 and 21 ACT score required to get a TOPS Scholarship, or Ugga students doing the same. Actually, Ugga students kind of do do this, but not to us, because they recognize they are, at best, in triple A. aTm thinks they're Yale. Seriously. Yale.

My take as someone who teaches at Vanderbilt- there are a lot of students from Texas at Vandy. Many, many of them walk around in longhorn gear.
This one single take by a person is not the representative sample of most Vanderbilt students or alumni.
What I will say is that most of the younger alumni remind me of Rice students in the 90s (I have no frame of reference on them now). They don't know how to handle success or failure in sports. They are not sports savvy; it's not socially awkward but it is sporting awkward.
Far easier to roll your eyes and ignore them. That actually makes them more mad than engaging. As they want to be important and noticed for being something other than the one awkward member of the SEC.
Exactly. People trying to get attention have to have outlandish takes to draw eyeballs. This is the basis of every terrible TV/Radio sports show host.SchizoAg said:
I wouldn't read too much into the opinions of one mediocre writer. I've occasionally seen stupid crap like this from people calling themselves Aggies.

MF'er has miles to go to even approach the right field foul line of my hate for the teasips or the coonasses. He needs to go home and try to elevate his level of hate for Tennessee before anyone would thing he has excess hate for usAggieBand2004 said:StinkyPinky said:Right. This surprised me. Since 90% of his "hate" involves the word milkman, I'd bet my whole paycheck that his opinion has been completely formed from his time spent on the internet. I'd be shocked if he's ever cast a shadow in College Station, or even Central Texas.
I had to google the word "cromulent" Blue star for you sir.Sean98 said:
Just a joke. That angry face was just for comedic intensity.
That joke is that the "author" is a product of that school and you teach at that school. ... therefore his inability to create and relay even a cromulent thought is therefore your fault.
Did he just show up at Tceh and enroll in Lubbock? Because nobody applies to those other schools and then tceh. Unless Georgia Tech? Confusedsnowdog90 said:
I have 3 sons. My middle son is one of the smartest people I've ever known. 4.0 at Round Rock in all the smart AP classes. He was not accepted at Vandy or Stanford or Harvard or any other "top tier" school.
So he got a full scholarship and a stipend of like 10k a year to go to Tech. He graduates in May with a computer science degree, a job paying him 100k minimum and a lot of money in the bank.
He wanted to go to Stanford, which would have cost 60k a year. So glad he wasn't accepted at a "prestigious" school where they just take your money and teach wokeness.

Next up would be to score one or more run(s).
Third choice would be to get shut out again but by not close to mercy rule territory.
If get to choice #4, the phrase "how much is the buyout" can be invoked.

Vandy leads the nation in strikeouts on players hit by pitches. So it aint all bad.

This is the first time I've A&M this year, and if this is weekend is their normal level of play, then that's the best college baseball team I've seen since 2019 Vanderbilt. Vandy got SMOKED!

I have a theory that they have figured out how to juice the bats with them still able to pass inspection. I watch a ton of baseball, and exit velos for the teams that are mashing are higher than the major league average while the teams that are not putting up insane numbers are generating more normal exit velos. I would say 75% or more of the Power 5 teams are using said bats.
Holcomb, who has hit 2 of the longest balls I have ever seen went 107 and 108. Just this weekend, A&M has hit 15 plus balls over 110. If the announcers are not fudging the numbers. UT, Georgia and Florida hit 110 plus regularly
