Yep. Great freaking kid. Crazy how he showed so much promise his soph year then jr and sr years were a struggle. I blamed it on the injury last year, but he's healthy now. Just can't hit.
Sucks for him. The K started crazy high and now is unbelievable. HR rate down significantly.

2022 - 62 for 211 (.294) with 81 K's (38.4%) and 15 HR (7.1%)

2023 - 49 for 219 (.224) with 78 K's (35.6%) and 10 HR (4.6%)

2024 - 5 for 27 (.185) with 12 K's (44.4%) and 1 HR (3.7%)


He chases way too many pitches. At this point in his career, he is who he is.

Targac has struck out 7 times in a row. Great kid but he hasn't hit since his sophomore year and then they figured out he can't hit any off speed or sliders.

Has the right tools. Probably just needs a good sports psychologist and he can pop out of this two year funk. These kids are way harder on themselves than we are on them.
