This loss is squarely on Schlossnagle. Several bad coaching decisions at critical times.
Last year he made all the right decisions and this is one of the best teams money can buy . We need to take one tomorrow and be happy it's a long season. We've got to hope we can get some pitchers to step up. We still have Minnich and Werner out.
Except we aren't even competitive against a good team. Our batting isn't good enough to savage a season, pitching like this is going to keep us under .500 in the SEC.
Can't be happy for a "long season" if we are bad...and after 20 games...its safe to say we are bad.
Dude. Go drink a beer or take a walk or something.
Starting 13-7 (0-3) and people are hopeful for a good season. How does that make any sense? We haven't even got into the hardest part of our schedule and every aspect of our game is struggling. Whether it's ground outs or throwing strikes, we fail to make routine baseball plays.
You think we are going to have a successful conference season?
Yes, but probably not by your definition.
You think we will be above .500 in conference play?
I recognize the SEC is the best conference in the nation. Being north of .500 is hard, and I'm not seeing it from our guys. The stage is set this weekend, we are at home, you've had 17 games to figure it out. And here we are trailing by 6...with a depleted bullpen for game 3.
Starting 0-3 requires three 2-1 series wins just to come back to .500. And with our schedule...how are you handicapping the first 3 series?
