Rayne Knight with CR Systems/Aggieland Roofing/The Roofer Girl threw out the first pitch last night. The people in the booth now play "I love a rainy night" song to cover the students singing the Schulte Roofing jingle when a ball hits the roof.

I got told that she was upset they got free advertising when she donates a lot to the athletic department.

Yeeeahhhh it seems pretty petty and ****ty to try and drown out the students. I hope they learn to work around it just to spite them.

I get her annoyance but she's not going to change 203 by asking for that.

Oh and keep in mind that the PA guys don't control that anymore.

She needs to come up with a better jingle then cause there is no crying in baseball.

She has every right to be mad, do you know why she got to throw out the first pitch Friday night? She and her husband has just made a HUGE donation directly to baseball to help better the program. That donation makes watching Aggie baseball more enjoyable for all of us. That donation will help bring in the best players in the country. If you had made that kind of commitment to a sport, I don't think you would be happy either with your competitors jingle (who has not made a major donation to baseball) playing during the games. IMHO she has every right to be mad.

It's not playing though. No one in the booth is promoting the other business.

And you know why we sing it? Because they did support Aggie baseball for YEARS. We didn't just randomly decide to sing the Schulte jingle.

But she has NO right to demand a censure. It's childish and just plain BS. Also, Shulte advertises on the baseball radio broadcast. Sing on, Raggies!!

Mad at what? The raggies are just doing something that they have done for years and are not going to stop because someone donated a bunch of money. Back in 2010 we all appreciated the very large donation by the Kruse family but most of us olds still refer to it as Olsen Field not Blue Bell Park.

We're teaching our kids that it's just Olsen as well

Let's figure out a way to stop the students from yelling "YOU" in the middle of the fight song and then we can work on the bullet proof roof.

Along with slowing down the Ball Five Chant, all three are losing battles.

Now I want to imagine other petty sponsor gripes

CS Utilities demanding coach schloss change targac's nickname because they're the ones that keep the lights on at Olsen

Valero insisting Raggies count tanker cars instead of engines because UPRR isn't a sponsor

Academy digitally inserting their logo into the rifleman video so we know where he got his lever action
