Though the train locomotive countdown was cool, this one is much cooler. Interesting to read about all these different parts of the state

Just dropping in to mention I'm more excited for Aggie baseball than I've been in literally decades.

Going into the '99 season I thought we had a better than good chance to be in Omaha. My expectations were sky high and the season played out as well as I could have hoped in some areas, and better in others. Daylan Holt hitting 34 home runs was one of the "better" parts.

I think I was even more optimistic going into '93 because our weekend rotation looked really promising. They didn't disappoint. When your Saturday guy goes 10-0 in the regular season, that's special.

But this is the first time since the 90's that I've been so excited I'm impatient. And I'm not even expecting everything to come together in '22 even '23. If it does, then fantastic. But I'm just excited for the long term potential.

I'm so grateful I lived to see A&M get so serious about coaching hires, and barring something unexpected, I've got a couple or more decades left.

I absolutely love all these shots of Texas farm roads and byways. I learned to drive on farm-to-market roads, lo these many years ago.

I've lived in Scottsdale AZ the last 4 years after living in Texas the first 50 years of my life. All those pics make me long for home.

Having only purchased tickets via StubHub or Ticketmaster as a staff person, I finally get to "pull tickets" as a grad student but I have no idea where to do such a thing. Also, can I include my wife and kiddos and where do students typically sit at Olsen? Thanks, guys.

Purchase a sports pass and just show up at the gates of Olsen with your student ID and get swiped in. There's no ticket pulling for baseball. Your family can sit with you, but you'll need to buy GA tickets for them. Students sit in the GA sections (202, 203, and the grass berms).*

*Caveat: This is how it worked prior to 2021

Most of you recognize that I love baseball. That love is surpassed only by my love of my Lord and of my family.

I consider you to be my "baseball family".

My bride and I have been married for almost 44 years. We have been blessed with three adult sons. Two are married and the youngest has not yet been blessed.

This past week has been the worst of my life.

A week ago our world was as perfect as possible. In a matter of days that all changed.

It all began with what was thought to be a common cold in my 9-month old grandson. The common cold was then identified as RSV. Okaythat remains treatable.

Then, it all turned into a nightmare. High fevers that were uncontrollable. A week ago, there were seizures. Another trip to the ER and a life care evacuation to The Children's Hospital of San Antonio.

There, test after test. Finally, a diagnosis: bacterial meningitis. And the worst, aggressive strain
of that wretched disease.

Thousands and thousands were in prayer. God heard and God answered. We pleaded for His Holy will to be done. And it was.

Our grandson was taken to his new home in Heaven where he joins other family members and friends who have gone on before us.

One day, when my time on this earth is up, he will meet me at the gate. He will no longer be in pain. My legs, that no longer work, will be new again.

I can't wait until I can chase him around the basebaths.

Some may think my story is one of failure. It is not. It is a story of victory.
