This thread is making me homesick. What's better than driving the Texas highways, with no particular place to go?

I was able to enjoy the first three seasons under Jimbo more than I might have when younger because I just decided I wouldn't pass any kind of judgment over the outcomes until he'd had more than enough time to completely build his program and culture at A&M, and time to stack a bunch of recruiting classes. So the wins were fun as they always were but I didn't get too frustrated over the losses. And we accomplished more in season 3 than I really expected, so that was nice.

I'm content to wait a few seasons under Schloss before getting too demanding so I look forward to enjoying the ride as he remakes Aggie baseball in his image/culture.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't more excited for Aggie baseball than I've been in a long time. The most excited I've probably been was in '93, when it became apparent that we had not just a really good team, but one of the best in the country, and going into '99, when we knew we had something special before that season started (though I don't think anybody expected Daylon Holt to hit 34 home runs and 105 RBI).

I'm looking forward to experiencing that kind of excitement again.
