MJ, Boomer, &Will talking about the mercy rule being enacted. This SHOULD be the last at-bat for the bad ags.

Quick bat there Ags. Don't rest on your laurels. lol. DeLoach at .462. Still better than Gonzales but we need to retire Gonzales next time up. After an 0 for 7 start this weekend through the first inning with 3 Ks, the future HOFer has hit two consecutive bleeders to right to get his avg back up to .456. A base hit and he will just squeak by Zach in BA.

By the way, stat tracker stats become wrong once the game ends. Don't go by that at this point. DeLoach at .462. Future HOF Gonzales at .448. Schmidt at like .414.

So was last weekend just a horrible weekend for our bats? Or are we just horrible hitting away from Olsen? Or was the opposing pitching just that much better last weekend compared to anything we've faced at home?

I mean, what was it, something like 8 hits total for the three games.

Nice to see them back on track. Always good to get a sweep!

Likely a combination.

I don't know as even DeLoach didn't hit that weekend (and Sartori had 1 hit) but Bost had one of those 8 hits in his only at bat. After a slow start the first week, maybe Bost is ready to crank full time. 3 HRs in his last 3 official ABs and 4 for 4 beginning with his one bat against Okie St. (with a walk and HBP).

One can hope. I'd like to see Barker get back as well to see what he can do (3 for 5 before injury). I do feel we are better at the plate than last year with more options but that isn't saying much. Need to do much better than Frisco for sure.

Seeing Moo come back out and pitch well was a good thing too. I'm feeling a little more confident that last weekend won't be the norm when we face stiffer competition.

We need to get Frizzell, Bost and big Coleman in the lineup. One of them needs to play LF for Blake. and Schmidt needs to stay in lineup as well.

I tried to wait but I really wanted us to retire future HOF Gonzales there at the end. Keep him below DeLoach in BA after this weekend. So I may have posted a little early there. Forgive. hah

We only care if you are reporting a bad thing. ITPHR doesn't count.

A few post-game observations:
Great job by Weber: 7Ks, only 1 run allowed
Moo K 'ed the Only 2 batters he faced. (He needed that, as did the Team)
Dawson Barr had a K and only faced the minimum number of batters in the inning he pitched
Deloach and Bost BOTH had multi-HR games.
Bost and Schmidt both made great arguments for increased playing time.

If farmer1 was at Olsen, his Bubble-induced PTSD was really triggered

It was so nice to have a game thread without the usual suspects who only post when we don't do well.

Superstition dictates that I must apologize EVERYTIME I post before Lance's play-by-play. (Normally, it's only 3-4 times a game)
By the way, what the hell does ITPHR mean?

A&M improves to 14-0 at Blue Bell this year.

and has avoided getting dinged at home by lesser opponents. Unlike 2017, 2018, and 2019

Offensive comparison through 17 games:

This year - .297 BA, 158 Runs, 19 HR, 33 2B, 3 3B, 33 SB, 95 BB, 30 HBP, 3 IBB, 122 K

Last year - .266 BA, 114 Runs, 11 HR, 24 2B, 2 3B, 17 SB, 81 BB, 11 HBP, 2 IBB, 81 K

Last year minus ACU plus game 3 vs. Gonzaga:
.257 BA, 108 Runs, 10 HR, 21 2B, 2 3B, 14 SB, 80 BB, 9 HBP, 1 IBB, 79 K

Much better production across the board against what I think has been a little better pitching overall. Our strikeouts are up over last year but so are all of the positive numbers.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The biggest drop off from last year imo is defensively, namely the left side of the infield (SS, 3B).

Defensively - 26 errors thorugh 17 games this year vs. 14 counting ACU or 11 minus ACU plus game 3 Gonzaga last year.

Last year: Blaum at 2nd at .957%, Shew at SS at .955%, Ty Coleman at 3rd at .929% (Ducoff .920)

This year: Blaum at 2nd and SS at .947, Werner at SS at .857, Sartori at 3rd at .878 (Ty Coleman at .917)
