Desperately need a change to the lineup today.
This team can't hit its way out of a wet paper bag. Two things I can't stand about softball is the pitchers that jump off the mound to deliver the ball and batters who do the running swings, When the ball is piTched. When they crack down on the these two things it might be a sport that is worth watching.
Crack down on slap hitting? That's an interesting take.
They have cracked down on the slappers some this year.
Any contact with ball with foot outside the chalk and batter is out.

2 nice backhanded catches by Erica in left center, and great communication between her and Keeli.
I love slappers and wish we used more in our line up. LSU seems to use 3-4. When a team is struggling to get hits, slappers can make things happen. Love slappers and the speed of softball. For those that "don't like girls doing the running and swinging thingy". They need to learn the game a little more. It's not baseball. That being said, the new rule will change the approach of slapping and I can see where slappers will need to be able to hit away more then in the past.
I certainly don't want to see 4 slappers in the lineup but a good leadoff slap hitter is critical. I think they make the game more interesting.
Lexi walked the bases full but got out of it. 2-0 after 5. She needs to have more confidence that she can throw a strike past a weak hitting LSU team.
Got out of a major jam. Lexi walked the bases loaded. I am surprised Jo didn't pull her.
Big two-run shot to pad the lead. Just need six more outs.
Riley with a shot into the right center bleachers with Kaitlyn aboard, all with 2 out. 4-0.
Bases loaded and a slapper up for LSU is why I wouldn't want 3 or 4 of them. They're great at getting on base, but make the out at 3rd easy.
I like a versatile hitter like Kelbi. She can slap or hit away.

Lexi has worked herself into and out of jams in the last two innings.
Up 5-0 after 6. Lexi pitched out of another jam by getting their best hitter to chase a high pitch with 2 runners on and no out.

The win puts us in 5th place a half game behind UT, who plays at Bama tomorrow. I hope that homer gets Riley out of her slump.
TV captured Trinity with her Aggie Ring on. She received it before the Friday UK game last weekend.
That was a big win today to salvage a 1-2 weekend on the road. The SEC is such a murder's row and the difference between salvaging a 1-2 series and getting swept 0-3 is big.
for those that watch this team every game, what pitching rotation would you go with; and since i know its different than what we are trotting out there, what are the coaches thinking?

If either need relief before the 6th inning, put in Poynter. If either need a closer, put in McBride.
Sunday is Show and McBride. I think they make a good combination. Harrington and Poynter would also be available if needed.
We swapped places with LSU in the RPI this week and are now 13. 11 SEC teams in the top 19, with Auburn at 14 and Bama at 17. If we can finish 3-3 I feel good about hosting a regional.
