Homan did nothing to add value today. The only time he got on it was a walk. Heck, he cost himself at least one walk swinging at balls. He extended a few innings with the glove and ran us out of another inning. Gutierrez, Gillman, Schoenvogel, it doesn't matter they would all be an upgrade in aggregate.
It's not the kids fault he is just out of his depth.

I wish that Kilkenny could've gotten the win, but Dox was clutch with that strikeout to send it to the bottom of the 15th still tied. It was fun doing rifleman 9 for Kilkenny's strikeouts.
If they would have left extra infielder in, this game would still be going....
I don't see how you pull him, but Homan needs an some serious focus adjustment: 0-6, 3 errors and a base running mistake. Have seen little leaguers play better than him.

Imo Yes they can. Janca has been very shaky at third base the last 2 games in particular.
Everyone just assumes you could plug shumake in there and he's just going to play a solid shortstop. It's the toughest position on the field and you can't just plug guys in and everything is fine.
And this is coming from someone who thought homan should have been benched half way through the season and given someone else a shot. I think he's a hot dogging show boat who is annoying as hell but realize we are past the point of making that switch bc we have very few if any other options in game 2 of the supers

I'm not defending Homan's defense which was terrible, but the baserunning tackle wasn't a horrible mistake. His only other option was to stop and get into a pickle. At least he tackles better than the aggie defense!

I think our backup middle infielders have less than 9 combined innings of playing time this season, but we want to put them in with the CWS on the line?
I posted weeks ago that ss needed to be replaced early in the season. Move Shew to short and then work someone in to play 2b. Too late now so we have to live with a non-productive player during the playoffs. Not good.
oh my, finally got home from Blue Bell Park...what an unbelievable game for the maroon-n-white. Many thoughts...
the Ags played so well offensively from the 1st inning to the 5th inning...and then were just flat out awful for the next 10 innings until Janca sent the 6,000 fans home happy with the game-winning single. So many horrific at-bats and mind-numbing futility at small ball.

as for Homan...that may have been the worst performance I've ever seen from an aggie baseball player in a postseason game. C'mon man...you have to contribute somewhere...in some phase of the game. You know the staff wants to bench him, but it's too late in the season for that.

as an aside...I think that was the longest game I've been to at Olsen since the 16-inning affair vs. the Razorbacks in 1989. That game did not have a happy ending. Fortunately today did

That was absolutely brutal. This game definitely tested my level of redassness. But it was great! Hoping for another good one tomorrow (hopefully only nine innings long)
That mind numbing attempt at small ball put them in position in the 15th. Great decisions since we coudnt get the ball out of the infield for 9 innings. Now if they could just steal a base.
It's too late in the season. He hasn't been this bad all year defensively. Homan has had some troubles hear and there as of late but, has generally been solid in the field. Plus, it would mess up the normal double-play rhythm. He is what he is at the plate.NewOldAg said:

Maybe a game like this will cause him to tighten things up. We live or die with him.
