And let's ignore his very high fielding % (for a SS) in the previous 59 games. Is this some of your first experience with baseball?
Eeeeehhh, he's obviously going right back to shortstop tomorrow but his fielding % isn't that great.

No way you can bench homan.
As has been pointed out even as bad as he has been lately you can't move your starting 2nd or 3rd baseman to the toughest position on the field in the middle of a super regional.
Why? Because they might miss a play or not come through with base running?
You mean the same kid who solidified the postion last year. He was a big reason the 2016 team was as good as it was.NewOldAg said:
Homan did nothing to add value today. The only time he got on it was a walk. Heck, he cost himself at least one walk swinging at balls. He extended a few innings with the glove and ran us out of another inning. Gutierrez, Gillman, Schoenvogel, it doesn't matter they would all be an upgrade in aggregate.
It's not the kids fault he is just out of his depth.

Of a somewhat different note - who plays SS tomorrow? Not picking on anyone - but that position left a lot to be desired this afternoon.
Yes, replace your SS who has played there all year. Make sure you do it one game away from Omaha, too

No, his best option was to just stand on 2ndbase.
This was easily his worse game of the year. What do we use to judge possible future results, this one game or the entirety of the season?ArcticPenguin said:How could it be worse?AggieBand2004 said:ArcticPenguin said:He shouldn'tjkag89 said:Homan will start.Hamburger Dan said:

I've seen worse, then again I've seen many a college baseball game over the years. The Debt said:Quote:

I'm not defending Homan's defense which was terrible, but the baserunning tackle wasn't a horrible mistake. His only other option was to stop and get into a pickle. At least he tackles better than the aggie defense!
I suggest you stop opening your mouth and removing all doubtArcticPenguin said:How could it be worse?AggieBand2004 said:ArcticPenguin said:He shouldn'tjkag89 said:Homan will start.Hamburger Dan said:

Yep.Tobias Funke said:
Could one make the argument (ignoring that the extra 6 innings were brutal torture) that by extending the game this much and still winning, we gave ourselves a much better chance of winning tomorrow?

In fact, I exoext tomorrow to look like what we thought we had going early today. Ags win 10 to 4.
Did you see what happened at 3rd base when Janca was benched early in the season? I think we had 4 errors their against tu when someone asked, "How could it be worse?"ArcticPenguin said:How could it be worse?AggieBand2004 said:ArcticPenguin said:He shouldn'tjkag89 said:Homan will start.Hamburger Dan said:

That bloop double down the RF line still irritates me.W said:
as an aside...I think that was the longest game I've been to at Olsen since the 16-inning affair vs. the Razorbacks in 1989. That game did not have a happy ending. Fortunately today did

Can you cofeve that again?
It's too late in the season. He hasn't been this bad all year defensively. Homan has had some troubles hear and there as of late but, has generally been solid in the field. Plus, it would mess up the normal double-play rhythm. He is what he is at the plate.NewOldAg said:
