Except for the first game or two after the renovation, and the '89 sip series, there's never been a dedicated student section at Olsen. GA is open to all.

Not when I was in school. You had GA and reserved. No _____ section.

For the nasty weather games, the ushers would even let us sit on the first deck/reserved seats if they were open.

The "student section" was the student section because we showed up before gates opened and took it.

There are a couple of ring leaders in 203 who think they are hilarious but are actually super freaking weird so half the people don't want to follow them, or laugh at anything they say unless it's Daddy Shark, bubbles, or the rifleman...once again because they are so weird. Also they are not friendly to the casual fan who had no idea the rules and regulations of the sacred 203 when they walked up the stairs. Statboy is/was great and the most original in recent memory but I think a lot of them just follow his every move without even thinking for themselves.

Buddy, we are open to suggestions and ideas! All you have to do is come down and ask. I certainly don't feel like I've jumped into any kind of leadership role, but I've had a lot of folks asking me for advise because they see me at the games. Since I've been here, I have not seen any real leadership structure outside of Statboy leading the charge when he's here.

That being said, I'm aware that I'm weird. That's a known fact.

I was standing on the top step waiting for a break in action to go up to my seat earlier this year. One of the new ushers told me I could not stand there (Had been there about 15 seconds) because I was blocking people from getting to their seats. So I got dirty looks from the people in the first two rows of the section as I walked past them and blocked their view of the action.

Wait? Who tries to be funny?

Sure funny happens, but the point is to get the opponents head out of the game.

Or, in Shad's case, remind him that he almost got to double digit errors in a game.

Never set foot in Olsen/BBP. Have watched dozens if not more of Aggie baseball games. The unique baseball traditions are awesome but change with time. These traditions are in the stewardship of the current students with occasional help of former students seeking to support the team by supporting the traditions.

Blaming current students isn't the solution to any problem. Informing, supporting, funding, and enjoying are solutions but letting go is also necessary.
