If we hadn't been 0-3 last week end, we'd be happy with one win here. Well not happy, but not upset either.

What a great day for Janca and a solid outing for Chafin! Looks like we're going to need a whole lot of outstanding fielding gems and some very good relief outings for us to win many more games this season. Thank God for the 2nd Vandy pitcher whose fastball apparently topped out at 86-87 and who didn't have an A+ curve or slider to compliment it. Our line-up could look very good again if this was the type of pitching we'll be seeing. Their 3rd reliever seemed to have better stuff than any of our pitchers have, mixing an extremely good curve ball with above 90 speed. Most of our guys can't handle a fastball, unless it's thigh high right down the middle, if it's thrown at 88 or better (if they don't just take it for a strike) and most of our guys will apparently struggle to hit a plus curve or slider. But, at least now there's hope with Janca, Davis and a few others showing signs of complimenting Shewmake in the batting order and making plays in the field.

Was it discussed on this thread that 4 Vandy players were suspended prior to the game? Including a starting outfielder and shortstop, the starting pitcher for Sunday's game and Vandy's top reliever? I tuned in late but did not see any of this discussed, anyone know what happened?

A&M's SEC opponents have scored at least 4 runs in every conference game. Pitching will have to improve.
