Yea when they pounded #1 Florida in route to a SEC Tournament Title and was consistently the number 2 team in the country through out the year and was a Top 8 National Seed.
Ok, that's ONE example. Shall we look at the evidence for both? What about literally every time we've faced a team from Texas in a Regional final or in a Super Regional?

Both teams post season fate was set, there was a tomorrow for both teams. Not sure the SEC tourney was a pressure situation for either team. Last year we had three gsmes thst decided tangible results, we went 1-2. We lost to Ole Miss where we could have won SEC, we lost to TCU when we would have advanced to CWS, we beat UF for tourney title.

Typical Childress team. Mental weakness.
Dumbest post on the thread.
I'd like to know why you think that. Have Childress's teams not looked mentally weak against teams like TCU?
No. They look very competitive. They just get out coached. Schlos is a better situational decision maker than Rob. A mentally week team doesn't go 16 innings for a CWS birth. Last night was a horrific management issue. Last year A&M was pressing a bit but, TCU pitching was a good match up against our line up. It still went 3 games. After game 1, I think Jim knew that A&M would come to play in game 2 so he saved his best curve ball/ off speed pitching for game 3. Our Achilles heel. It worked.

Out coached is what your looking for.

And please drop the "well last night was just a regular season game" bs

Given the opponent, that game was way more than that

Actually the SEC Tournament was a pressure situation cause we lost the first game to Vandy 6-5 and had to run the table.

5 straight walks with a 5 run lead in the 9th isn't getting out coached, although that's happened plenty as well, that's being mentally weak.

Hey look if you want to talk conference tournaments go right ahead RC has done very well in those but unfortunately they typically don't count for much

First SEC conference Tournament title and helped A&M get a Top 8 National Seed.

But there really wasn't anything to lose on the line. IMO it's not the same as a regional or super regional where you loss you go home. But again we won it and it was a great run. I'd taken beating TCU over that or even beating Ole Miss

Of course you can. Am I not allowed to look at this team for who they are?

We did well in the b12 tournaments as well. Unfortunately for all the conference tournament success we've had it hasn't resulted in trips to Omaha other than 2011 nor has it propelled us to even a single win in a Regional final or Super vs teams from TX

A&M hadn't locked up a Top National Seed and many pundits said they needed to win the SEC Tournament even though their body of work was there. So there was something on the line after losing that first game, which was a Top 8 National Seed.

Again even if your point is valid you've still got a mountain of evidence against you

No. It's a poor situational management decision considering lance's post and what I stated above. If you can't see that then we are at an impasse.

Making more bad decisions than your opponent is getting out coached.

That had nothing to do with TCU being the #1 team and everything to do with our SOP Rob Childress coached team late inning meltdown. 5 straight walks had nothing to do with the opponent.

Did I ever say they walked 5 times in a row because they were awesome?

When it happens time after time after time with the same result, it's the coach. He's reached his zenith.

Not to crap on anyone saying good stuff in this thread, but **** that. Last night was classic A&M. We can try to rationalize it however we want, "young team," "poor coaching decisions at the end" etc doesn't matter.

Fact of the matter is, it's classic A&M because it's just that* whiff of what really being great is, and then FACEPLANTING on the pavement grossly.

Our school does this in every sport. ****ing SUCKS
I agree with most of this but the track and field and equestrian teams would like a word with you.

Amazing. If we fired coaches every time TexAgs called for it we'd need a new football, basketball, and baseball coach every year.

It's also amazing the baseball knowledge or expertise that each person on Texags seems to have when it comes to knowing why RC needs to be fired and give their reasons why we lose.

I've been playing baseball from 5 years old till I was 30 then coached it on the Select Level for a decade and what can happen in a game never surprises me and that's why I keep coaching but also love this game on all levels as a fan

More likely we end up as the 2 seed in their regional.

Last night's game was HUGE for numerous reasons.....it was not just another game. For that reason, you go to the ninth and run out to the mound whoever gives you the best chance to close out the game. One run lead or five run lead, you put the guy on the mound who you think can close out the game. If he thought it was Sherrod, then fair enough. But after two walks, not four.....you yank him and then repeat the process.....put the next guy on the mound who gives you the best chance to close out the game and the only guy you don't consider is your Sunday starter.

Not that it wasn't time for a change but we haven't exactly improved our results on the gridiron with the three coaches since Slocum.

True enough, but we did not make the wrong decision to make the change. We've just made the wrong hire three straight times. That's prolly the norm, but it still sucks, but never regret making the change that was badly needed.
