If you come in late on a crowded gameday and your standing at the bottom of the stands looking for a seat you used to here "right field bleachers" chanted at you but now you will probably here "right-field hill side" ensign_beedrill came up with that back in November.

i mean, i'll just tease the heck outta ya. i think it went something like this last year: "hey, theres a sticker on your sunglasses" "it's the new trend"....i think it also went that way with a guy with a ironed flat bill cap with all the stickers and price tags on it...so many "trends" these days that look dumb.

Don't be so butthurt over the "list." When you were a student did TexAgs even exist?

It's fun. Besides, when going to games with newbies you have to explain a lot to them. This makes it a little easier.

I feel like there was always at least an unwritten list of guidelines. Things you did, said, and other little traditions.

Heck the internet did not exist much less TexAgs. What I don't like about the list is that is that too much heckling is now a rote response rather any creative thought.

darn us younger generation kids and our new fangled idea of sticking to what works! or for educatin the younger kids! or for having fun on that dam contraption called the interwebs and making lists!

i didn't have a list last year...a couple of y'all filled me in on my first game! pro tip: if they're planning on being there all the time, they don't need a list. they just ask.

there still was a list last year...and if i remember, there was an argument about it too. only less so...bc it was more of a list of traditions. which is what i wanted this to become, but started it off with some funny pet peeves of some of us.

Even "what works" gets stale if it is overused. I'm all thumbs up for oldies but goodies if it is part of the package, however, too much anymore it it is the whole package. Sorry if this old grey hair for longs for the days when the Raggies were creative, that is the real tradition and not heckling by numbers.

I'll admit there are times where we can have mundane-ness. but there are still some creative moments...like last year, I started calling out the first base coachs' drivers license numbers...i forget which game, but 1 left the game (although i highly doubt that was due to my actions). It's not like we ban creativity or look down on it. We have traditions to keep up (this is A&M after all), and a lot of the best ideas are taken. Combine that with increasing limitations by Olsen officials, it's become easier to just stick to the old stuff. The heckling gets pretty creative though, but they are normally only heard by the 10 people around the heckler since everybody yells at once.

I remember when mound visits were more than just touch his butt.

However the one tradition I will miss this year is making fun of Kman and his reaction to a ball headed his direction.

A lot the "old stuff" would not exist if the Raggies of old stuck to the tried in true.

I don't mean to come across as an old fuddy-duddy and realize you were only trying to be helpful. If you just used "guidelines" without the word "traditions" I would have left it alone. Guidelines has a whole different connotation then traditions, especially at a school like A&M.

It did go out with a bang last season when his (and the family's) Sunday lunch when flying everywhere when a screamer came into Section 104.

One of the best thing about being an old timer is feeling comfortable enough with the everyone around you to heckle them.

What else did y'all do during mound visits? Just curious.

I would think the only guidelines are to keep it family friendly and to not obstruct view...

#2005
trumps rule #2003, if you find yourself in the former section 203 on the fourth row looking just to the inside of the line between first and second... there is a very good chance you will have a different seat before the first pitch.

On a side note... with new benches, it might be time to bring out some new bumper stickers to mark the seats.

How I've enjoyed Aggie Baseball the last 30+ years without the list is amazing.

having been a regular at olsen for nearly 25 years..I agree 100% with this

quote:
The fact that there is a list shows how far the students have fallen since their humble (and funny & creative) beginnings. What a shame that some of you believe you are there for any other reason than to support the team. You are not bigger than the game.

I always hated yelling at people on the phone thing. I used to go to games when I was on call at the vet school and sometimes I would get called in. Sometimes those phone calls can be important.

Now if somebody is just chatting it up for an hour, ok. Have at it.

Last year an OLD AG came with a PRINTED OUT LIST (yeah, it's not just us young guys) of traditions he missed since he was a student. (some he just didn't know we still did) Of those on the list, the one I remember was his favorite was the Rocky run.

if it's important, answer, walk down to the concourse and answer it. but if you are a Dr, please, go save lives...but wives and moms can wait.

The good "list" traditions involve rare(er) occurances in baseball that show up at an above average rate at Olsen.

A pitcher's mound visit, no...

...a three hour walk to the mound by Uncle Ben himself, :-D

Rule #2005 only trumps #2003 if it passes these 3 provisions:
1. How big a boy are you?
2. How many friends want to take up the cause with you?
3. How willing are you to loose an eye, ear, finger or tooth for that seat?

Another one, if you have a newbie and they want to make something up Leave them alone as long as it is clean! I had a student tell my 8 year old to shut up because he was chanting! I buy season ticket so I Started chanting in his ear until he left. the whole section waved as he left us.

This. Wish more folks felt like they could join in, even if they're not sitting in 203.

Unless it has changed recently the rally rooster is not a rubber chicken; it's an actual stuffed rooster that sits on it's perch on a pole out in Aggie Alley; it faces the field when we're @ bat and away when we're not.

Look, if I have to piss or my girl wants a drink, thus causing me to stand and walk in front of you or your cronies, you'll receive a yell equally as rude as the one you've bestowed on to me.

Silly.
