Why would any resident pay $19k for a second-rate state school with all of that nonsense going on? Is UM noteworthy in anything?

Serious answer: journalism. On par with Northwestern and Syracuse.

They're not as bad as tech, but I wouldn't say that they're early admittance into the AAU (1908) means that they're still top tier either. There are some schools in the AAU which make you scratch your head: e.g. SUNY-Buffalo, Kansas.

Mizzou is now closing Respect and Excellence residence halls as a result of a drop in attendance.
