Someone with football smarts break this down for me. We have looked terrible against them the last two years. What is it that they do so well, and how do we gameplan against them.

see what the Aggies wanna do is get touchdowns and field goals. If they want to win this game they're going to have to get the ball into the endzone more times than the Tigers.

They have physical dbs and players along the dline that get pressure with 4.

I dont know if I would qualify myself as someone with football smarts, but I suspect you have already seen the answer to that in these first two games.

Spavital is experimenting with big sets, not always 4-5 wide. He is also alternating the speed and power backs. Our O-line can get a push on anyone and our receivers block as well as anyone. This is a recipe for a very successful running game even against a LSU defense.

If we can establish that sort of running game, LSU can't sell out to stop the pass like they have in the past. Combine this with different (and frankly better) style of play that Hill brings over Johnny and you have a team that can and will score on LSU and anyone else.

Then it comes down to the defense...



A&M has the tools and the athletes, we match better than we have in the past. Its all about coaching and scheme. Frankly, Miles has one that battle the last two years, I don't think he will this year.

We have to get them out of our heads and believe that we can win.

Kenny Trill throws and runs for lots of scores while Garrett sacks the S*&t out of the Tiger offense.

I think we have to be able to run the ball, as Ardennes said. If they make us one dimensional, it may look a lot like the last 2 years. If we're successful on the ground, I think we have a great chance of winning.

Defensively, I think we'll have to adjust to what Miles throws at us. If we set up to make them one dimensional, they have the talent to adjust. We'll have to make in-game adjustments (like every game) based on what we see. If Snyder and his guys can do that, it bodes well for us. We've seen him do it before, so I'm optimistic. . . if the defense isn't a M*A*S*H unit like it was last year.

Running the ball. That's how Alabama beats them.

We hardly ran the ball at all last year, and it killed us. We were doing ok in 2012 until our third drive when KK started getting really pass happy. We were running the ball fairly well, but we moved away from a balanced attack and more towards the pass, which we can't do against LSU because their DB's are to good. We need to play run heavy and force them to sell out often, then pick our opportunities instead of trying to create them.

Stay healthy.

A balanced offensive attack that doesn't allow Chavis to key on any previous offensive tendencies.

We have the athletes and speed to beat them this year.

Score every possession

-be able to Provide enough protection that forces lsu into sending additional defenders to blitzand exploit the gaps when they do.
-Slow down their rush attack without cheating safties into the box to let us not get blown out by the play action deep ball.

First and formost have a DL that can match up with their OL. I'll never forget watching LSU's OL blowing our guys 2 yards off the line before their RB even got the ball last year in the second half.

If we keep losing patches of grass like last week then there won't be anything for Les to chew on by the time he gets here. This can only help us.

Their strengths on D are their overall speed and DB physicality. Bama gets to them with a power run game. If we can get a power run game established (like second half of Arky in 2013), then the passing game should open up. But we cannot abandon then run game, or we'll be looking at 3 in a row.

1st year was all about turnovers. 4 straight possessions of them will lose you any game in the West.

2nd year was about Johnny trying too hard, IMHO. Several replays showed wide open trail receivers running across the middle and Johnny tried to force the ball down the field. I said before the USC game and believe it more now that Kenny will run a much more efficient offense. He is more experienced at finding the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th WR.

Bottom line, how our defense goes is how the game goes. If we get 2-3 stops per half against anybody in the West, I think we win the game.

Let's concentrate on the 8 games we have before then, how abouts? THEN we can worry about LSU

The way in which LSU played the number 3 team today and beat them (Ole Miss) is a telling story that we won't be winning against LSU for a while until we rent, put on layaway or even borrow a DEFENSE!

you can't beat LSU there just to damn good especially now with fornette running the way he is and the defense growing up ,maybe earlier in the season
