Both these teams look good. Neither looks great. This years SEC might appropriately fill the 6-8 lines. Like all 12 teams on those lines could be from the SEC.

While I agree with the second point that the SEC will fill up the middle of the bracket, I disagree about the teams in this game so far. I think they both look pretty poor this morning. Taking bad shots, missing a ton of shots, quite a few turnovers and minimal assists. Some of that may have to do with the early start, but I don't think the quality of play has been very good in this first half.
Fair enough. I thought they looked to be in good position on both offense and defense. Plenty of missed shots though.
Switched to Maryland Sparty. Solo would've been great in Buckyball. Weird seeing Buzz run all zone.

Sparty up 24-4 about 9 minutes in. Maryland looks horrible.
Going from bad to worse for Mississippi State, getting blown out at home by Vanderbilt.
They felt like a team ready to give up the other night. All the vibes of a team that's going to have a rotation player mysteriously leave the team next week.
Sparty up 46-23 now. MSU is really good. Maryland is terrible. Ready for our game.
Foul fest in the Ole Miss vs UK game.

So I get that Sparty is really good and coached by a legend. BUT it doesn't look like he coached defense in this one either. Just weird. It's like he said "well, this year doesn't matter because I came in late so I'll just focus on next year". I wonder if Solo expected this.

Melvin didn't demand a raise and extension when he wasn't worthy of one and when told to wait to see how the season plays out publicly promote himself as available to any decent school who would call, then publicly (on a mic) undress his own fan base on a weird player celebration night in his own arena. Oh and then take a job at one of the worst times for the school he left to react.
Melvin just wasn't a good head coach.
