The delusion is unreal. Ane at many schools. Everyone uses moneywhip Those days are over and never worked.

It's deeper than that. BCG was lightening in a bottle and Buzz was perfect storm similar, and both wanted to leave. Get over yourselves. There's good coaches out there. Deal with what's possible. Coaches that have good jobs know what's up.

1. If I have 6-7mm and NIL commit I'm going everywhere and making all the top guys tell me no or use me to make rivals pay more.

2. Lutz is so meh that if that's my target I'm making everyone else empty their chambers forst

Think you need to take your own advise and get over yourself. If Ags are paying top five money they will get a good one.

So we got a no on beard, a no from McCasland.

Drop some other candidates
Did we even try to get McCasland?

Why would McCasland take a demotion to a lesser program? Pay attention.

Didn't say they won't get a good one. Said there are plenty good ones. I have no doubt Ags will hire a good coach. Keeping him? History says probably not, and it won't be coach's pay..

Everybody pays well at this level. Some think that is the deciding factor. The major ones aren't leaving what they've built, unless they get upset with something in house.. That cycle has passed this year. ....imo

Went big with warning track power to the deepest part of the park. Frustrating but no point in throwing a tantrum.

Glad we took a shot; disappointed it didn't work out.

Trev swings big and misses big a lot. All last year while searching for the schloss replacement, we heard about the unparalleled money and motivation A&M had to throw around. And then, our top tier candidates all said no, and Trev settled for Earley simply to preserve the team.

Now it looks like we are tracking in a similar direction and we won't even preserve a team (Payne to portal)

1000% this. What has trev done so far except for swing and miss on coaching hires?

So if he hadn't gone after Beard you would feel better because he didn't swing and miss?

Lol who said that? Only facts we have so far on the only 2 huge hires he has made is that he has gone after big fish and missed. And we have been used as a stepping stone for money. Those are the facts at this moment

Swinging and missing is better than not swinging at all. But so far in baseball and maybe in hoops we are seeing what happens when you miss on all your targets. You get the leftovers. Basketball is still tbd

Jans is a pretty good coach but at age 55 only has 1 NCAA tournament win in his career and in 3 years has never achieved a .500 conference record or finished higher than 9th in the SEC.
Sounds like a perfect "fit"

You'd rather have a guy who's never run a program over a guy that's made the tournament 3 of his 4 years as a head coach?

I love Joe Jones, but he's a guy we hope gets a small job does well and we bring home in 5-10 years. Not a guy we hire right now.

If we need a new coach in 5 years, then no, I don't want somebody from Okie Lite.

I just read that we are interested in Kellen Sampson. Son of Kelvin Sampson and an assistant coach.

Great. Not sure I can think of an offspring coach that was as good or better than their parent. Maybe I am only aware of the ones that didn't work out.

It seems like Beard approached us before Buzz left. Appears that we thought he genuinely wanted to come here, so we made him a fantastic offer. Turns out, Beard was only using us for leverage to get more out of Ole Miss.
