I'm sorry , the refs may have been a factor but we had this game in hand and let it gradually slip away. Not really blaming anyone but at the end of the day we didn't get it done. Credit to Michigan.

What if someone were to tell you you're wrong. And the problem was that we couldn't get a stop on defense and Michigan made some crazy shots that went in.

A lot of posters on here apparently have never followed March Madness before - I assume your brackets are just chalk picks. You claim tech and Baylor are better than us because we lost to a 5 seed when our top 2 scorers were non-existent. We beat tech this year by the way. Upsets happen in March Madness - I guess Purdue should have blown up their program when they lost to a 16. All you want is a good seed in the tourney and hope your team is playing to its capabilities and get some luck to make it through a tough tournament. Buzz got us to a 4 seed and is a good coach and can definitely take a team farther than we made it. Move on from him and you're just rolling dice for the coach's that would look at us.

What if someone were to tell you you're wrong. And the problem was that we couldn't get a stop on defense and Michigan made some crazy shots that went in.
I'd say that without the refs the game would have been close and anything could happen. But because they directly changed the game when we were playing our strongest, they were the biggest factor.

Working with what we had I think we actually played really well. Wolf and Goldin had 5 fouls between them. Goldin should have fouled out multiple times. There's just so little you can do when you get abused by bigs without calls
You also said Michigan was lucky to be in the game.

Season on the line Michigan plays 5 guys more than 26 minutes, 4 over 30 minutes. Buzz "let's play the entire team to keep their parents happy" played no one over 26 minutes. 10 guys saw more than 10 minutes… with the entire season on the line!

A win/loss mattered very little to our position in the tournament…had we accomplished what we were capable of and not lose to the sips. We **** the bed there too.
A second round exit is pedestrian. It's fine if you accept this. I don't. Our program funding and our profile, not to mention our fans and players, deserve more than this.
Taking solice in not accomplishing your goals is a loser mentality. You should always be moving/trending upwards. A&M athletics has not been doing that.

Michigan adjusted and found some offensive flow through passing. We could not adjust, as we don't have another avenue to win.
I don't mean that to be negative towards us. It just is what it is, and has been. We had our ability to be aggressive and play ugly gritty basketball taken away, and we have no other way to win. A team like that is playing on borrowed time in March, and usually won't make it past a game or two. That's why I say we finished right about where we should have. We deserved to be playing in the 2nd round. But, we are not nearly compete enough of a team to be a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 team.
Very proud of these guys. They should hold their heads high.
I'm also hoping we can rebuild over the next year or two with some skilled players, and can develop a true offense to go along with relentless defense.

Having an NBA ready scorer is hard to get and keep to build around. Maybe we should focus on this and Kennedy was much better at recruiting NBA level talent but we ended up in the same spot when we ditched that mentality and went back to hard nose defense Gillespie type with Buzz.
Now we will let Buzz leave or eventually fire him and go back to a recruiter type and hopefully we break the cycle or it continues. Who knows
Finished the year 3-6 in the last 9 games and done on the 1st weekend of NCAA against a team we were up by 10pts in 2H.

we do play above our weight, but why must we have to! Florida, Bama, Kentucky, Tennessee now Michigan all play with size and just abuse us all game. Every other top twenty team has 4-5 guys who can put the ball in the hoop. Finding scorers isn't hard but they tend to be higher maintenance for a coach and don't always but I. To the k you note and community service culture.
