I'm with Marc on this one. Everyone deserves critique. And yes...Buzz and the team have put together a very special season this year. But that does not excuse:
- Blowing a double digit second half lead to a very mediocre Central Florida team
- Blowing a 22-point second half lead to Texas
- Failing to advance out of the NCAA tourney first weekend
- The losses over the years to Harvard, Fairfield, Murray State, and Wofford
- Mid-season, 8-game conference losing streak
And I am a huge Buzz supporter. But just because I'm a supporter, it doesn't mean his performance and results shouldn't be reviewed, analyzed, and the problems fixed. He seems to have mostly done that this year...but we'll see if he can rebuild this roster for next year. Lots of talent and depth won't be back in '25-'26.
Staley has 3 titles, 3 additional FFs, and 5 additional S16s or E8s. She's only missed the tournament itself 5x in over 20 years of coaching.
Not exactly a good comparison. Besides, UConn has 17 wins this year of about 30 points or more and a ton more of around 20 or more. They can beat anyone by 30, including a powerhouse like SoCar, on any given night.
