A team the supposed caliber of A&M should be expected to win road games against unranked opponents no matter who they play against.

We aren't much of a second half team though. Going to be a close one.
Very inexcusable to allow Texas to end the game on a 41-18 run in the last 17:07. If we had made 2 more free throws, we would have won 71-70. I went to the game, and after a 51-29 lead, I thought we would win this road game by double digits to sweep Texas and win in Austin for first time since an 80-74 road win on 1/23/2002. Instead, we will have to wait at least another year to win in Austin.zooguy96 said:
They outscored us 41-18 to end the game. Absolutely no defense. Refs didn't help, but easily a winnable game.

Yup, anytime we lose to Texas in any sport it's always due to refs.Dark_Knight said:

I don't care that we lost to the sips
I don't care that we lost a conference road game
I do care that we lost after being up by 22. That should have been easy at that point to close it out and get another quality win. Still confused on how this happened against our defense.

Love seeing your sip conspiracy shtick isn't just relegated to football. Keep it up! Definitely the refs fault!!

Is there not a way to coach players to be better free throw players? Shaq was a horrible free throw shooter and never improved and is it just uncoachable? 30% isn't going to get us into March Madness.
Said it earlier but think it's pretty clear he's not close to 100%. He can't go by anyone right now off the dribble. All of his points were threest - cam said:bobcat90 said:

Sure but today was a matter of who we got to the line. Not blaming the refs, they were terrible, but Wade should have been on the line in one & one situations at least 5 times. Thats likely 8-9 more free throws made.
My biggest beef with today's game is not starting the ball in wades hands for the final 2 minutes. He's historically great at turning this situations into fouls.

Which worries me that we brought him back too early. I'd rather lose games now and have him 100% in March
Baiting guys into fouls is not a great strategy on the roadt - cam said:AggieCrew44 said:Said it earlier but think it's pretty clear he's not close to 100%. He can't go by anyone right now off the dribble. All of his points were threest - cam said:bobcat90 said:

I mean yes, but when he has the explosiveness to go by people. He didn't today. He made all American two years ago closing out everyone at the stripe and it had nothing to do with speed. He's just great at getting defenders into uncomfortable positions.

After a 3 hour drive home I still can't believe we lost. Kind of similar to Thursday where I had to remind myself all day that we won against Ole Miss.
The environment was crazy the last 10 minutes of the game (props to them for that, because the new venue is not that impressive) and I started to get nervous at about the 15 minute mark as they chipped away at our lead. In those situations when rooting for the Aggies I always have in my mind "keep it at 1 point down per minute and we will have a chance at the end" and that's exactly what Texas did.
Even with the two technicals and our free throw woes that game should have been ours, we just needed to keep playing instead of going slow. Heck we already go pretty slow and make other teams use most of their clock.
Instead of just playing ball it was hold it to the end of the clock and throw up a prayer. Part of this seemed to be from how tired we were. Our guys looked exhausted and it showed on the court the second half.
I'm now 0-3 in Austin (0-2 basketball and 0-1 football) so I just need to stop going to games in Austin. I mean twist my arm… that city sucks.
Anyway - team will be fine. As some of y'all said, we have done this exact thing to other teams. It happens. Have to have a short memory and move on after taking some lessons from the game.
See everyone Tuesday for the start of a 2-0 week in conference play.

Sorry you had to witness that abortion. Talk about a difference in two halves. When we went up 22, we basically quit. Last thing I expected from this team. This would have been a GREAT win send it should have been!

For what it's worth Buzz obviously agreed with you. Just me personally, I'm putting it in wades hands and living and dying with him.
