This team is too good and this year has too much potential for us to not have organized game threads. Buzz would be disappointed in our lack of effort and organization. I've been doing them for women's basketball and wanted to try to make them for men's basketball. Tonight our Fightin Texas Aggies host Southern University for a non conference home game before we head on over to Sin City next week for the Players Era Festival.
The Aggies enter the game ranked #23 in the country after a big ranked win over Ohio State. Southern opened the year losing 3 straight to the University of South Dakota, Iowa, and EAST TEXAS A&M. However they are coming off a win against Ecclesia College (whatever that may be) where they won by 89.
They are led in scoring by Frenchman #22 Tidjiane Dioumassi at 13.0 ppg, #1 Damariee Jones at 10.5 ppg, and #3 Cam Amboree at 10.0 ppg. A lot of their team and individual stats are inflated on their lone win and none of us actually watch Southern basketball so there's not much we can infer from their stats. However, their team is composed of many transfer players.
I expect to dominate from the start. The beauty of this team is you never know what you're going to get. It was raining 3's one game then the next we're shooting 40 free throws. This game I want to see a higher shooting percentage, especially inside the paint. Our defense should stifle them. Let's get out healthy and pickup the easy win before we take off to Vegas.
