He was on the way out anyway. Real question is who does Kentucky get?

No way Hurley would leave UConn after back to back nattys.

Arky with the huge upgrade from Muss
How many Final Fours and Nattys did Muss have? "Hardly any kind of upgrade" is laughable trolling/lack of knowledge of college basketball.phorizt said:The Marksman said:

Muss had 3 more Sweet 16s than Cal did in the past 5 years. Hardly any kind of upgrade imo.

This has to be a joke unless UK is somehow strongly pushing Cal out.
Where in the hell is Arkie getting this money? Waltons?
I'm simply saying that Cal is far far better than Muss, regardless of how old they each areHop said:The Marksman said:How many Final Fours and Nattys did Muss have? "Hardly any kind of upgrade" is laughable trolling/lack of knowledge of college basketball.phorizt said:The Marksman said:

The guy is 65. If Arkansas listened to you, they'd be going after the ghost of John Wooden with all of those titles from the 60's and 70's.

Tyson chicken. Apparently Cal's close with some of the big wigs there.
John Calipari will go to Arkansas with a bankroll from Tyson Foods and Walmart for NIL. He will adjust to the new transfer portal world and quickly pivot from the One and Done.

If you’re a mid major or mid tier program with a great player go to his apartment immediately. He may…

But if you start having large corporations being the funding source of a program and tied to NIL, I see NIL having a massive overhaul quite quickly

Pretty sure that's already happening in some places. Maybe not quite as large as Tyson's bankroll though, but definitely national brands

Which will get a big deal of backlash.
I like NIL because these players are sacrificing their bodies and 95% of their time for their sport. It isn't like being a student unless you're the type to dedicate your life to studying. If you are 100% student, you'll be pulling a lot out of college. If you're an athlete doing the same but not in the pros, you're significantly limited.
When it becomes obvious though that you went to highest bidder from a corporate sponsored team, I think all the support drops across the board for NIL (assuming your team isn't one with a huge corp behind it)

Calipari has recruited lights out but just hasn't been able to recently construct a cohesive team. The defense this year was a joke. He'd be a better fit in the NBA.
The NIL with UK has to be a big deal. I don't see how Arkansas can match it but they have somebody financing a top 3 coach.
Wish we had paid the additional amount and got a top tier coach

Some teams were always disadvantaged financially compared to the big schools, so why would a shift on which schools/players benefit the most change anything other than some different schools' fans feeling aggrieved about institutional disadvantages?
