And please interpret those first 10 minutes. Dramatic, yes. Meaning? Personally, I'm thinking that is a guy very upset with US. There is a message in there somewhere and it sure wasn't about his lack of love for his players and his methods. Those 2 things are something that are being shown a lot of disrespect around here. Almost a warning?

I can only hope (but believe) that Buzz is a man of strong character who knows what matters in life, and wouldn't let us internet fans be his biggest frustration. If so we have bigger problems.

I wouldn't even call me a casual fan of Aggie basketball.
More of an occasional viewer. But the times that I've watched our games this season, I've seen us take very bad shots, and handle the ball in a sloppy manner. Rebounding is average at best.

I like Buzz, and want both he and his teams to have great success, but I just don't see that we are all that good. Just north of average.

I like Buzz.

But that was word salad, as it so often is, in this case designed to prevent further questioning about Boots vs CSPD by implying anyone should be embarassed to ask further about it. And a vague "I know every detail about it but I can't tell you".

We now have Marble and Boots in trouble and no clear explanation why, nor do I expect to get one.

I got the feeling he or the players visit Texags way too much.

Based on what I've read, what happened with Boots wouldn't even happen if it were in Tuscaloosa, Norman, Austin, etc. The bicycle cop would be told to throw his report away and go work the mall parking lot.

This isn't the first time that makes it seem like Buzz doesn't appreciate the criticism from fans. After the UK, there were very cryptic messages in a similar tone.

I get it. He's trying to protect his guys. But it's starting to sound like he believes that he's doing A&M a favor by being our coach. Perhaps he needs to go coach at Rice, HBU, or Incarnate Word where they barely have any fans to criticize the awful shooting and poor defense.

Isn't he a top 20 paid coach in America?

Sorry Buzz, you need to be a top 20 team.

If by average rebounding you mean one of the best in the country, then yes.

I don't disagree, and know for a fact CSPD generally are over- eager to prosecute, but to me 10 minutes of word salad is worse because it makes it seem like a big secret deal than saying something like "he's accused of running a stop sign and didn't see the bicycle cop trying to pull him over."

Good point. If it's a publicly available charged then why not comment on it. We can all see what happened in the public report.

Buzz needs to figure out why his teams continue to make huge mental mistakes. Then he needs to address our atrocious free throw shooting and our putrid offense.

Then maybe he can address his own recruiting success, or lack thereof.

For a two time SEC coach of the year, this is not going to be a memorable effort.

Rebounding is average? This is one of the best rebounding teams. Taking bad shots? Welcome to 2024. Watch other teams. It's just the way the game is played today.

We are no2 in ttl rebounding in all of NCAA and no1 in off rebounds. Just in case you want to watch more games, you'll know.

Yeah the rebounding call out couldn't be more wrong. That's the one point of our game I have the most confidence in.

I'm not sure total rebounding is a good stat to be proud of. There are a lot of rebounds to be had when you are the worst shooting team in the conference.

I hate all the negativity, and that gets amplified with social media. But that is part of college sports these days and nothing unique to Aggieland. Buzz needs thicker skin.

Offensive rebounds definitely matter with a bad shooting team.

The reporter asked him about Boots and it took Buzz almost 3 minutes of rambling about himself before he even says Boots' name, and even then he didn't answer the question in any way, shape or form.
Fairview20

Offensive rebounding is one of the more important metrics to look at because even if you're a poor shooting team, if you can consistently get multiple attempts in the same possession you can still average the same points/possession as a better shooting team. That's why our offense looks horrible most nights yet we're still a top 50 offense in efficiency.

That's a guy on the verge of failure.

They always get on the 'circle the wagons' almost religious schtick, when they can't rest their hat on results.

Yawn. It's a game and your performance is based on wins, and fans appropriately act like fans.

Gtf over it and win. Or dont

Only reporting on what I've seen when tuned in this season. Yesterday, it didn't look good. Numbers may say otherwise.

Each team had 36 rebounds. We're #1 in the SEC in rebounding and Florida is #2. Played out about right.

I now believe Buzz does read Texags.

I trust the guy to run a program we can be proud of. Not really worried about that at all.

He specifically made the comment yesterday that yes … we should recruit better shooters which may be true but I don't think that's even the issue . It's something about the way they coach (or don't coach) shooting imo.

Something mental is happening too. Lack of confidence has a way of snowballing. Maybe the win yesterday will help. Maybe more guys should get arrested.

If we didn't care, we'd pay much less for a coach. Instead we pay a top 10 coaching salary and deservedly expect more. I love Buzz, but he is falling short of what we pay him.

This is what UF posted on its site under the game story. I posted it in the thread "Stay classy Florida". Not sure if it's factual:

"Radford, who goes by "Boots, spent Friday in a College Station jail after being arrested for evading local authorities after he reportedly ran a stop sign back in December and nearly caused an accident running a second while being pursued by the police."

Oh the horror! We are so thuggy. Meanwhile Bama kept playing an actual star even though he hand delivered his gun to assist in a murder.

We have a personnel issue. I understand wanting to blame the coach for the recruiting or development or whatever, but Buzz has had a lot of talented teams in the past, and there are even a couple of extremely talented players on this roster before it kinda drops off a cliff to one dimensional guys.

I actually think there are only a few coaches in the country who would actually this well with this group of players available to them. Sure bad recruiting misses for one offseason, but also finding a style and a way to not only have a solid team? Its impressive to me. The problem is the follow up from last year, I know we all had higher hopes. This is how sports is no matter how we want it to be and its easy to push the "coach" button and spin the roulette wheel for a new BCG but that never happens. Its incredible that it happened once, honestly.

No but "nearly causing an accident" is subjective at best. Everyone of us probably "nearly causes an accident" while driving every week.

Never mind.

I'm not arguing if he should've played or if it's thuggy or not. I'm just saying that across the entire TexAgs site, I haven't seen the second part about him fleeing and running a second stop sign and nearly causing an accident.

I agree with you. I think Buzz is doing a good job and I'm
Not trying to be hypercritical of him but that doesn't mean he shouldn't look at results and try to figure out how his team and coaching could get better… and I absolutely think he does.
