In this case maybe they don't know the future Big 12 schedule and we don't know the future SEC schedule so maybe it was just easier to sign a one-off for one year?

Although playing UH at Toyota every year or every other year or something, especially now that they're in the Big 12, is like the one neutral site game I could probably get behind.

We will play an ACC team as a result of the ACC-SEC Challenge. That has a decent chance of being a top 100 NET team.

Why would we be against getting an elite former rival on our schedule every year? The game would fill the arena and be a hell of a lot better than playing ACU to TAMU-Commerce.

Give me home and homes with Tech, TCU, UH, SMU ahead of Baylor.

We have a home and home with SMU. They suck.

They have been good/decent most years. Good home and home since gives us decent game and also a game in Dallas.

We should be playing any of those teams you list though. Baylor has been the most consistently good for the last decade though, so you could count on them being a quality opponent as far as SOS goes. UH is a great get too and I'd gladly play them every season.

The history we have with Baylor and Tech from a basketball perspective make them a huge draw and I think we could fill the arena in December, a real feat for us. Houston has that potential too as long as they're still elite.

If I had to rank the teams you listed of who I would like to see us play from a personal perspective I would go Baylor, UH, Tech, TCU then SMU. UH/Tech have the potential to flip around, but as long as Houston is as good as they have been, I'd keep them ahead.

I am happy to see us playing any of these teams. It is an improvement over what we have been getting in recent years.

You are too young I guess. The way Baylor handled conference realignment is the reason not to play them.

Didn't we used to have home and home with Baylor a few years ago? Didn't we run them out of the gym in one of those games? Wasn't Reed packed for a noncon game? As good as Baylor has looked, I don't mind playing them.

In 14 and 15 we played them. We beat them pretty good there and they beat us pretty good at Reed

We shouldn't play a far superior program from a better conference because they were mad we left an old conference and we were superior on the football field for most of our lives!!

I have been an avid fan of A&M hoops from the late Melvin years, so I'm aware of all the realignment stuff and whatever. I'm even more aware of the nasty rivalry we had with them in hoops in the BCG/Turgeon years and they're easily my second most hated rival in hoops. Sports are supposed to be fun and heated rivalries make them fun. Plus as others have pointed out, we have already played them since then.

Ultimately this thread is about playing UH though and that is a great game for our non-con schedule. I'm looking forward to it!

Beat those two and NCAA invite and seed legitimacy established…presuming they're roughly as good as they traditionally have been…

TCU and UH are good, schedule it. Tech would also be great, even if not necessarily as good a game as Baylor. Nobody gives a flying **** about playing SMU. Nobody wants to go see ****ing filler games, nobody wants to see crappy or uninteresting opponents. We should schedule games against our rivals, and Baylor is one. Certainly a game with more meaning than UH, SMU, or TCU by ****ing MILES.

I'd love to see a Baylor series.

I'm guessing those guys are going to want to schedule a game against us in the near future when tu and Oklahoma join the SEC.

Wouldn't mind a home and home with either of those teams.
