Went to state tournament 17 consecutive years, 1994-2010, and Stanley Bonewitz (1995, San Antonio Central) put on, by far, the greatest 2 game performance I ever witnessed...by far.

Realize this is about the greatest Texas players ever but.....wow!!

talking strictly about high school bball here...admittedly i don't know too much from the pre-90's era, but from the 90's on (and i'll probably miss a few), i'd have to put:

kris clack - austin anderson
chico vasquez - austin reagan
luke axtell - austin westlake
chris mihm - austin westlake
chris bosh - dallas soc
lamarcus aldridge - dallas seagoville
daniel ewing - missouri city
tj ford - missouri city

The 2002 DMN All-Area team included Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, Lamarcus Aldridge, Bracey Wright and Acie Law IV.

That's going off memory, but that is a hell of a team for a given year in one city, even one as big a Dallas.

Carl Godine was another great player. He led Kashmere to 82 straight wins and two state titles; averaged 28 pts a game as a senior on one of the best teams in Texas basketball history. If he hadn't blown out his knee at A&M, he could've played pro ball. Even after his knee was messed up & he transferred to SFA, he was still drafted in the NBA. But he wasn't near the same player after the injury and surgery. Obviously knee surgery in the 70's was much more invasive than now, and seldom allowed athletes to resume their sports at a competitive level.
