Elite, you are correct.

I also think Andy Leatherman and Jarod Jahns need to be thrown in. Maybe not above Shaq but certainly in there with Larry Johnson and Clyde Drexler.

A few teammates that were better than the players listed:

Brian Hopkins was a better hs player than Bosh IMO. That Lincoln team was crazy good.

Bracey Wright was a better hs player than Deron Williams.

yea that Wright/Williams Colony team was ridic, hard to believe they fell to Cedar Hill (Daniel/Jason Horton) in the playoffs, and the only team to beat CH in the reg season- Consol with about 40 from Watkins!

Iirc, Clyde wasn't highly recruited.

LaBradford Smith (Bay City) was a pretty acclaimed high school player. Played at Louisville and once scored over 35 pts on Michael Jordan, though overall his pro career was short-lived.

Also some say the Harrison twins (Aaron & Andrew) that recently committed to Kentucky are the top 2 recruits in the nation this year... Probably not top 5 in the state's history but excellent hs players.

Glendon Alexander was one of the best Texas HS players I remember seeing.

Not one of the best ever, but Jason Maxiel was a beast. Saw him block a shot into like the 10th row.

Willie Warren was the best high school player I ever saw play.

I wasn't that old when this happened. But I would say that Coach Milson at Cedar Hill was one of the greatest coaches the state has ever seen. Awesome guy too. RIP

I forgot about Andrae Patterson, Daniel Ewing, Rashard Lewis, Chris Bosh, Jimmy Smith, Jason Sasser, Larry Johnson, and would anyone have thought that Chris Ogden that never played much at UT was on Mr. Basketball!?!

Willie Sublett (Baylor) played at Arlington Martin and was pretty good. Stevin Smith (point shaving guy at Az. State) was also a very good HS player. He played at Dallas Spruce.

Willie Warren was a god. That kid was definitely one of the best i ever saw. I can't believe he didn't get much of a sniff at the NBA

Fought injuries while he was at AZ, but he was one of the best high schoolers I ever saw, kid named Jawaan McClellan from Houston Milby

Willie Warren and Darrel Arther were the best I ever saw at the state tourney. Old school would have to Tommy Jones from Crane. This was the late 1960s. Probably averaged around 35 per game and this way before the 3 point shot. Once saw Crane beat a very, very good Big Lake team 66 to 58. Jones had 56 in the game and played the last quarter with cracked ribs after being knocked into the wall on a fast break. He still owns the record at the state tourney for most points scored in 2 games.

I'm going to go ahead and nominate Forte and Smart as one of the all-time duos.

And like Hoya touched on earlier with a few duos, I thought Forte was the better high school player in the games I saw. He ran the show and did it really damn well.
