Listening to 790 this am, they were discussing the Texas/ KU game last night and one of them chimes in that the "cream" of the Big 12 has risen to the top, and is definitely Kansas and Texas, with everyone else below them. He went on to list all the wins they have had (UCLA, TENN, KU).

Then they had a guy from Fox Sports.com on there, and he was discussing Big 12 basketball and says how the Big 12 is "down" this year, with no potential Final Four teams. He says Texas and Kansas are the top teams, but that neither is that good. Lists Texas' good wins, then states how they almost lost to CU and lost to Missouri.

Neither guy's discussion of Texas even so much as mentioned our throttling of them LAST WEEK. In fact, the whole discussion, we barely got a mention.

I heard the same thing and almost called in to ask about the "other" top 20 ranked team.

That journalist was from KC MO.

The hosts (brad & craig i think) should have asked a few more questions.

Oh well, maybe we are under the radar screen again.........................

We've talked about how ESPN flat out disavows any knowledge of us even having played a game against Missouri or Oklahoma on both Sportcenter and the Midnight Madness show (which is an HOUR on ONLY men's college basketball).

But if you read ANY of the articles on this homepage for Men's Basketball this week so far, you'll notice something.

Texas A&M appears to have become irrelevant.

According to all these articles about bubble teams and bad losses, A&M's victories have had zero effect on any team in the Big XII and the future games that both t.u. and Kansas still have against us will have no impact whatsoever such that the mere mention of them playing US isn't necessary at all.

Ok, I'll take the bit that we're flying below the radar and the storied programs will get the attention, but this is just flat out negligence. We're a top 20 team that played an actual, real basketball game.

tu media conspiracy, blah, blah, blah. You should have turned it off when the guy said the Big 12 is down and had no Final Four teams. KU is definitely a Final Four caliber team. tu, A&M and KSU are all damn good teams. Baylor and OU are good as well.

Saying the Big 12 is down is lame. This happens every year in the ACC... Duke and UNC are the "cream" at the top, but they start taking losses in conference to Va (not this year), Maryland, NC State, etc. and the media falls all over themselves saying how deep the ACC is.

I'll come back and eat crow if I turn out to be wrong, but I don't think that this is a year that NO Big 12 team is Final Four material, I think we have FOUR teams that could conceivably be there, maybe even five. Kansas, tu, us, and K State, and Baylor would be even be a conceivable long shot.

Kansas is good at every position.
tu has extremely good guard play, which tends to be critical in the tournament.
We are a very complete team with good depth and very good defense.
K State has a superstar.
And call me crazy, but if Baylor gets on a shooting streak, they can play with anybody.

That's the way I see it.

Brad kept saying tu and KU were the clear favorites. Craig Roberts for his part kept trying to get the Aggies into the discussion.

That's what I heard about 0745 hrs today.

As previously noted, if we win next week in Austin, it will get plenty of attention. We have the big men to give them fits if the refs allow it. I can't say I expect that to happen but stranger things have happened.

how many times do we have to go over the same shart?

We beat tu on their home court next Monday and THAT will matter!

Are you guys suprised about this? 790 sucks in the morning. The only reason I listen to it is so I dont have to listen to Andre Ware talk about how good he was at u of h.

It isn't a conspiracy... t.u. has an excellent resume. Their losses:

at Michigan St: tournament team on the road

Wisconsin: tournament team who beat them at the buzzer

at Mizzou: closest thing they have to a bad loss, but it was a Big 12 road game

at A&M: tournament team on the road

Add to that wins over UCLA on the road, Tennessee, St. Mary's, and now KU. That's a hell of a resume. We have a chance at a couple of really strong resume wins coming up. If we can take care of business the rest of the way then we can fight our way to a high seed, but right now t.u. is getting a lot of attention because they have a great resume. I don't think they are a Final Four team, but right now they are playing really well and have some very impressive wins and no really bad losses.

Okay, one more time...
this isn't football.
Nobody cares that we beat tu at home.
tu losing to A&M on our court is not a bad loss for them.
They have more quality wins than we have.
If you want the respect of the media, we need to beat tu in austin.

"Why doesn't the media love us in sport X?"

i guess they don't care that k-state is at the top of the big12 right now
