Happy Thursday. My first time trying this Cab from V29. Had their other Cabs. Like it a lot so far. Not as big as estate or Aida. Much better than Cru. Got a 6pack in auction recently for $75 per

I'm not a burgundy drinker generally, but I've loved every Gevrey-Chambertin I've had. So far Drouhin and Faiveley have been my favorites. I'll have to check this one out!

We were this close (picture Maxwell Smart doing his "missed to by this much" gesture) from opening a 2003 Montrose tonight but I decided to throw it in the 2025 pile. Went with a 2013 Pott Incubo and a 2013 Maybach instead. Maybach was the star of the night and possibly the year. I'll have to check my notes for my wine of the year candidate. I think an older Las Cases may take the crown but can't remember if that was this year or last.

Had some Pinot gris tonight that was just hanging in the fridge, none of my other whites were chilled down and I wanted something lively and white to go with a shrimp stir fry.

Finished off a bottle of Kokomo Zinfandel too. Very nice approachable Zin if you are a fan of the grape.

Debating what to open for Christmas Eve. We are doing a tri tip roast.

We ended up opening a Kamen Grenache for our Christmas Eve dinner (did enchiladas today so bubbly was on deck for that, just a regular Roederer that was great).

You would like it based upon what you post about consuming.

There's a waiting list with Roy but you might be able to call him and see about sliding in. He has some back stock he might sell you and then allow you on the list next year.

Roy also posts a lot of VLogs on his site which, in my option, are excellent and a look behind the curtain of Napa wine making/decisions year after year.
