I was driving through Napa County today and stopped by the Maybach barrels to say hi. I didn't taste but boy, oh boy, they smelled devine! Gallonni is there right now tasting the Thomas Brown lineup.

Enjoyed a glass of '96 DRC Eschezaux and dinner the other night with my braised beef cheek and truffles potato pure. Life is good! Happy thanksgiving to all!!!

I had the dreaded delayed hangover this morning. Rolled into work feeling fine, then about the time I posted this pic I started feeling like someone took one of those Alban bottles across my forehead. Ran out for a #5 from whataburger and two ibuprofens to get me through the rest of the day.

Yeah, me and buddy + wives created some holes in the 'ol wine rack that weren't there 24 hours ago.

But, always great to enjoy with those who are appreciative.

First post on this thread..spent the last week reading from almost the beginning.

Lots of good info on here as well and I like to see the wine sharing of allocations. I have a pretty good cellar of mostly Napa Cabs, mostly the the cult cabs and some old diamond creek and heitz. Plenty of MIke Smith and Thomas Browns in there as well.

I try to host a wine tasting group about once a month at my house inside the loop and we usually have room for another bottle or two. If I could figure out how to post pics I will post the line up from the last 2 events....usually some really good bottles show up as well as some cool stuff you have never heard of or seen.

My wife brought a 2003 Casanova di Neri brunello to have with our pizza at Pizaro's the other night. It was in a good spot! Unfortunately that was my last Brunello from that decade. Next up is 2010 but we've got a ways to go on those.

Yeah there was some definite value drank, BUT it was worth it IMO. Nothing better than opening good wine with good friends!

Some drunk tasting notes:

-2013 (I think) Quintessa - Very nice wine.
-2013 Hundred Acre (ark or something) - Nice!
-2014 Alpha Omega Beckstoffer To Kalon (I brought this one) - This is an outstanding wine.
-(unknown year) Krupp Brothers "The Doctor" - I LOVED this blend, I really couldn't get over what it invoked in me.
-(unknown year) Quilt Cab - This is a Joe Wagner wine, and while I wasn't in love with the wine, for $35 I liked it a lot for the value.

There were several others but they didn't really register as being anything I would remember. I am awful at describing what wine tastes like, so I either like or I don't.

Had a 2014 Kenefick Quivet last night. While I like Mike's wine and Quivet is great value, the couple of 2014s I've had were a little over the top on oak and a bit sweet for my taste. Also one of his 2015 Myriad Napa cab. Wondering if he's having trouble fermenting to dryness on the hot wines?

Man I wish I could say, but on that night I think it would have been the Krupp Brothers Doctor, but probably just because it was an unexpected surprise.

Met David Long, the owner, at a wine lunch a few months ago. He brought 1147 and I brought Inwood Magnus. Both about the same price. Both were enjoyed!
