I had a few shipments come in this week:

2006 Vice Versa Cabernet Napa
2009 Drinkward Peschon Cabernet Napa
2009 Lancaster Nicole's Vineyard Cabernet Sonona

To clear some room, I had an '07 Mauriston Buck Pasture Cab and an '05 Del Dotto cab.

Picked up a three-pack of Bressan No3 yesterday. 11 years old and still going strong.

Is anyone else finding that the 2010 Oregon Pinots aren't up to snuff?

Our current batch of Panther Creek is not even remotely as good as 2007-2008 vintages and now I've had a 2010 Adelsheim and it wasn't that great either.

2007 and 2009 in Oregon were terrible. Both years were really cold and the vines had lots of trouble getting the grapes ripe. 2010 had some of those problems too, but I haven't seen enough '10 Oregon PN to know, as a lot of them haven't been released yet.

Just got in a half case of 2010 Bourassa Rhapsody3 Syrah. Pre release. May try one this weekend anyway!

The 2007 vintages we've had are/were outstanding. Not sure I can agree with you on that.

Will agree on the 2009 and now it looks like 2010 not that great either.

I guess it depends on what you like, but most of the 2007 Oregon Pinots were not good at all. Parker and Wine Spectator concur. I'm not saying they are right, but that's the general consensus.
And just for comparison, here is how both Parker & Wine Spectator have rated recent vintages

Wine Spectator
2008 95-100
2007 84
2006 92
2005 93
2004 94

Parker
2009 84
2008 94
2007 84
2006 91
2005 85
2004 86

Practicing, not making. Just practicing.

I like your style. Where did you source the scarecrow and what year?

I've been on the list since the '05 vintage. This is the 2007. It's good juice but it's getting hard to justify the price increases every year.

I just looked at the current prices at this point it doesn't make since.

BSD, thanks for the recs on the other thread.

I'm looking forward to a return to napa in 2 weeks

don't know about all of Oregon, but we've bought several bottles of Roco Williamette Valley '09 and it has been great, especially for the price point.

lots of great 09's out there from Sonoma Coast and RRV.

Oregon Pinots carry a great value, imo.

2009 is a great year for California Pinot Noir. Some are saying it's better than 2007 and equal to 2004.
I've been slowly assembling some pinot noir verticals from J Winery. I've got 2007-2009 Robert Thomas Vineyard, and 2007 and 2009 Nicole's Vineyard (the 05 and 06 were drunk last year). If anyone has a 2008 J Winery Nicole's Vineyard PN, I would be interested in purchasing it from you.

BSD,

If you plan to drink that Lancaster soon, I'd love to read your thoughts on the wine.

Yeah, Scarecrow is ridiculously priced. But it's so good! Enjoy your trip. I'm jealous.

I love Lancaster. It's one of the very few "wine clubs" that I belong to. If you ever get a chance to do a tasting in the caves there, jump on it.

Their pinots and sparkling wines are pretty good. They make a nice viognier as well, but it's a little to ripe and viscous sometimes.

I've got a friend of mine that is on the Colgin mailing list. In order to get on it, you have to write a letter explaining why you should be allowed on the list. It's some good, but really expensive juice.

Htown, I've been on the Colgin list and did not write that letter.

Note: by the time I got on, it was priced at a level that I didn't find acceptable so ive never been a buyer. But I'll drink others' Colgin anytime!

BSD,

I'll be visiting Lancaster in June, at least that is the plan, although I have not sampled much of their stuff. Looking forward to it.

I think you'll enjoy it very much!

And here's a nice FYI, Provenance Vineyards is having an online sale...40% off their 2007 To Kalon vineyard Cabernet. I have no more room for wine but I will be ordering some!

Wines from dinner last night:

2011 Quivet Sauv Blanc
2007 Myriad Spring Mountain Cabernet
2007 12c Cabernet
2005 Pine Ridge Oakville Cabernet
2009 Mauritson Rockpile Petite Sirah

And we dumped a 2007 Parallel Cabernet down the drain.  Not sure why this fell off because I've had the wine before and it was pretty good.

If anyone wants a 3 bottle allocation of 2009 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon, let me know. My wife isn't taking hers so I figured I'd offer it out at cost. Warning: it ain't cheap.

What is Scarecrow right now, about $175/btl?
BSD

A little higher...$250. All in with taxes and shipping is about $280/btl.

While I think it would be nice to have, I think I shall pass. With my luck, one of the bottles would be corked.
