If you guys who win a barrel are in DFW, I have an awesome store that will give you all the bottles if you want. I brought a barrel of Weller Full Proof into it last year.

I gave the store some of mine as a courtesy to make them some money but you don't have to.

Question for the board:

I collected quite a bit of bourbon from 2017-2022.

I am moving to a new house and am looking to pare down my collection.

What is the best place to get a valuation on the bottles I'm looking to part with?

It's roughly 50-60 bottles. Some easy to find, some private barrel selections, and some "unicorns".

Would love to be able to part with the whole collection in one sale but may not be feasible.

I'll cross post to the bourbon trading thread if that would be a better place to post.

Appreciate the help!

Bourboner app cost like $20 (might be free for a trial) but has good data on up to date values. It might skew a bit to the high side but that also may be the consequence of a falling market.

HouseDivided and/or FurFighter, have you guys decided whether you plan to do your barrel as a Texags pick? If you're not then I'd be interested in running it through the group, if possible. I just didn't want to saturate the group with Buffalo Trace picks.

I had reached out to Specs but they'd only facilitate it if I was to buy the full bottle yield, but the group of us that were planning to go pick it would prefer to get just a couple of cases each rather than all ~220 bottles.

I'm pretty sure a saturation on TexAgs is a good thing! And if you pull 200+ bottles I'd be willing to bet you could get rid of it here.

I'm happy to make mine a TexAgs pick. Specs is willing to do mine and release all the bottles. I'll tell you, I can probably account for a solid 3-4 cases between me and family and some work buddies. So let's said 220 minus 4 cases is 172, and if we want to round down to 150, I'm good with that. That doesn't saturate too much. Throw in the kink that I'm going to ask if it's possible for me to do 1 liter bottles instead of 750 ml and we will see how that affects the numbers. Bottom line, I'm happy to make mine a TexAgs pick, and if we are over saturated, I'll figure it out.

Honestly if we could pull off a 750 pick and a 1 liter or handle pick, that would be pretty awesome. Not sure of the feasibility of it, but would be cool.

For what it's worth, my Specs contact said they WILL do different bottle sizes but that it might be capped at a certain number. But worth exploring. I think a 1 liter would be fun, if I can make it work. Will try for that!

Okay question - So y'all won Buffalo Trace, "The Bottle", ONLY as the pick? NOT Buffalo Trace as in the "Product Line" or mash bill like Stagg or ER or distillery as whole?

Making sure because of how vague you interpret what Buffalo Trace could be here. I'm not sure how the Sazerac selection works, but generally know everyone in those picks the crazier bottles in the product line over the base BT.

Correct. They have different Sazerac products that you can list in order of preference like EH Taylor, 1792 BiB, 1792 FP, Weller 107, etc. This was plain ole Buffalo Trace which is still great but nothing fancy

Another factor is when the bottles will actually arrive. I'm not doing my tasting till December which means it won't arrive till summer 2027 fyi
