Assuming you're talking about the discovery series, avoid it. 9, 11, 12 are all varying levels of great but 10 is pretty awful.

Anyone have experience with Angels Envy triple oak? Never had it before but got it at a white elephant exchange.
Store people said it's their favorite, but I've got several other bottles lately so I haven't taken the leap yet.
SLB Drinks had it on their list of 5 most disappointing bourbons of 2024. Supposedly not very complex and just incredibly woody. Take that for what it's worth.
Do I know you? The person who got the angels triple cask in our white elephant last night hasn't had it either.

I have a bottle. More floral than I was expecting, and yes oaky as well. I like it fine, but wouldn't seek out another bottle for a while.

My take on it as well. Good not great.
Picked up a bombergers ($160) at my local place.
They also had Midwinters ($200), KC18 ($120), and Shenks ($140).
(Also picked up a jim beam winters reserve because of the bourbon YouTubers liking it)

History. Shenks could argue as the first Bourbon (sour mash), sold out to Bombergers, legacy picked up by current day Michters. Bombergers is a nice bourbon, Shenks is a nice sour mash. I dont know that they are worth the price, but its a long lineage with ties to 1753.

KC18 was $120?!? That's $60-$80 below MSRP…. I'd buy them out!
They only had one and it wasn't even behind ghe glass case like the bombergers and the others I mentioned
Limited release from a major distillery. I've only had 24 bomberger's and thought it was incredible. Great cherry flavor, nice heat.

I wasn't a huge fan of KC12 so didn't pay more than 2 seconds attention to the KC18 when I was looking.

One of my favorites! Got a toasted barrel strength rye last week and have been enjoying it as well.
Man, that's even better than the toasted rye imo. Great bottle.

PSA - Drink your rare/expensive bottles. I think we all get into the habit of not wanting to drink our rare bottles because we want to make them last and are afraid we won't get another. Life is short. A buddy of mine finally got his unicorn Thomas Handy and he initially didn't want to open it and wait for a good time. Well, he decided to open it with his dad and uncle at deer camp, and they almost polished off the bottle that weekend. His dad died of cancer and he told me that the weekend filled with stories and memories was one of the best of his life. So…. drink your nice bottles and enjoy life with friends and family.

This is so true! I sat on my bottle of W12 for a year waiting for the "perfect time" to drink it. Finally a buddy came over at New Years and we were talking about bourbon and he asked why I hadn't opened it and I didn't really have a good reason. We drank half of it that night and I'm still pissed I hoarded it for that long for no reason.
