These worth the $49 left and $79 on the right? First time ever getting/seeing either.

Disclaimer - I only hit the liquor store about 4 times a year

Left, no. Right yes for sure.

The EH Taylor for sure. Weller SR is ok and somewhat easy to find but isn't bad either, depending on what you like.

Left looks like a 1.75 so it's worth the price. Not the best juice but good price for it.

SiB for $79 is amazing. Just finding it sitting is impossible.

Yeah, I think that's MSRP for both. 1.75 is a lot for something you don't know if you like. JMO.

If that's a 1.75 WSR, you basically paid retail for both - fair price. The Weller is becoming more common these days. The EHT SiB is a great find!

How did your presentation go?

Seems like everytime I talk to high level leadership is because of some emergency or crisis event.

Great pour*

Went fine I think. But who knows. Thankfully wasn't a crisis. A recurring quarterly presentation I have with my EVP that he wanted to extend the audience for.

Good pour. Hot. But was going for that haha

I like Stateman and it is definitely on the sweeter side. It is lower proof and not all that complex but a good pour none the less. That being said the whiskey row bottles are the same price point are going to be better. The 1910 is a toasted barrel and im personally a fan of the 1870.

Do you like OF regularly? If you aren't familiar with their offerings start with a bottle of the 100 proof.

Thanks for the input.

I did try OF100 a few weeks ago and I liked / didn't love it. I will keep it in my bourbon row for a drink every once in a while but won't buy it again as I prefer to spend my money on other bourbons at this point.

I also purchased a bottle each of OF1897 BiB and OF1910 and will try them over the Holidays.

So hard with SiBs. I've found OF100 to be one of their best offerings. 1897 is underrated as a shelfer though. Great pour.

Seasonal tip here: OF100 is my favorite to add in eggnog. The flavors complement each other perfectly.

Changing the subject but I've waited until a chilly night with brothers to crack my MWND and tonight was the night. It is excellent. Thank you so much for hooking up a fellow Ag.

I picked a MWND up at a store on Tuesday. $199 which I am guessing is pretty much secondary. But I haven't had a pour of it in several years and I needed a special bottle to enjoy in about 2.5 weeks. My dry 2024 is almost complete. Gonna crack it open to start the 2025 monsoon.

Good to know. Do you just buy it at the store and mix or do some sort of homemade concoction?
BlockerResident

Homemade. Very boozy but you let it sit in the fridge for 3 weeks and the alcohol chemically "cooks," the eggs.

I use half and half OF 100 and Kraken Rum, but I've found that OF 100 works well too. As long as you use the correct amount of liquid for the scale that you're making.

The biggest key is to add the liquor to the eggs WAY slower than you think that you need to. The eggs can denature too quickly and become stringy. I don't mind if it all comes out with a few strings, but texture-focused guests may.

I should mentioned that this is taken directly from Adam Ragusea, a fantastic, semi-retired food YouTuber that has taught me a lot about food chemistry.

10/10 can recommend. Fifth year of making this and always has the in-laws asking if I am bringing it (in a good way).

I've enjoyed that quite a bit. My boss recommended that and I have almost finished my bottle. On a side note, the boss just gave out Christmas gifts and he gave me a bottle of Eagle Rare so things are looking up.

Weller SiB or RHF for similar price? Can't do both. About half secondary but more than Msrp.

I've never tried WSib, but I'm excited to try a weller 12 single barrel this weekend.

I just (notoriously on this thread) find RHF too smooth. Granted, I'm a proof guy. Way too easy for me.
