It was a sad day, when I heard she was shutting down. Much time spent there with outfit buds.
They got me with the CF BIB a few years ago. its OK but for the price I feel like its a rip. I ended up mixing it with sprite to finish it off. I never listen to the TW folks anymore. They just push "their" products like wolcott and chestnut and always say "its comp to BT products".rca21978 said:
Birthday present from the wife. She got recommendations at TW while shopping.
I don't have any experience with either the Chestnut Farms SiB or Bondstone Double Oak. Have any of you tried either one of them and, if so, how were they?

I can't speak to any of the bottles mentioned, though i bet the Maker's is probably pretty interesting. I do agree about TW. They really seem to take advantage of people who are just looking for advice by directing them to their house labels. The bottle's may be good (i don't know) but Its ****ing scummy and they certainly aren't upfront about it. i put them on the same level as tow-truck drivers.
Given that 60% of the whiskey isle is their rebranded Barton i've pretty much stopped going to TW. I'll just stick with Specs or the local places.

What is TW?
Edit: I'm guessing Total Wine

I was lucky. When I started my bourbon journey, my wife got me a 4R small batch select recommended by whatever store she went to. Still one of my favorites...

It definitely was 4-5 years ago at $60. $75 isn't bad but if it ever hits $85 I'll be disappointed.
