Little Book Ch. 8 in hand from a little local spot in The Woodlands yesterday, $177 after tax.

Picked that up at Beam when I was there in June. Poured some last night. It's phenomenal.

Took a chance on one since it was like $30 but I haven't even cracked it yet.

Yep. I did the same. Had to get it after having a pour with lunch at Beam.

Next time I visit I will definitely buy some.

I purchased it a couple of months ago (I record purchase prices that's how I know it was $35.99). It is still unopened though.

Wasn't the big deal about the bottle that it's not being sold in Texas anymore lol

No bourbon for me for a while. I got to be ready to go at a moments notice. Playing guitar, NCAA25 and building rapport with users on TexAgs.

The EW single barrel is one I've historically kept on the shelf. Just an easy sharing drinker for the price if you're not trying to impress anyone and/or hanging with beginner bourbon drinkers. EW has also always had a soft spot in my heart as it was the majority of my college drinking and bourbon intro. That and $20 weller that was everywhere all the time.

A few months ago a buddy ended up with an early 90's pre-fire bottle. It was so delicious. Very dark and fruity, raisin and dusty funk. If they all tasted like that, they would be very hard to find.

Excellent Post. EW Single Barrel is an amazing bottle for the $28.99 it used to be. Its basically the Heaven Hills version of ER (i consider it better or at least more consistent than McKenna 10). High age lower proof, single barrels (i know ER is not a Single Barrel any more) and cheap. Its isn't going to be the most complex thing you will have but it is damn solid and you wont freak out if a friend wants to mix it with coke.

Its a great daily, that is its value. At $40 or less (especially considering prices these days) it is well worth picking up a bottle and now that is becoming available outside of KY again it is one i would recommend people have a bottle of on the shelf.

lol. I'm much older, and grew up in a very small town.
