The Stagg that I tried was excellent.
That being said I think that is the only "premium" bourbon I have ever drank.
Certainly the only allocated bourbon.

I've got a Benchmark full proof (missing a few pours) which I know you love, to trade you for that low quality Stagg product.
I have not noticed a big change. I may have to do a side by side tasting to see if there is a noticeable difference.
I've only ever had 23C. It is good but I wouldn't pay more than $75 for it.

That's (allegedly) where BT has moved the Stagg barrels with the old flavor profile to.
I remember giving 23A the nod over 23C. I have another bottle of each so maybe in need to go back and try again.

Two hour garrison documentary. They travel to Kentucky and interview other distilleries and it is quite fascinating.

They talked about a lot of their history during the on-site tour. Pretty fascinating how they were able to build relationships with the big dogs in the industry, and get valuable trade info as a competitor. They seemed to think helping a business get going in Texas was a benefit to the whole industry. They had a few details about how GB paid homage to the various companies they worked with; mash bill, proof, etc.

I pretty much buy EC or Four Roses. Have barrel proof of both in my pantry. Never tried the toasted version. Just like the barrel proof versions. Is toasted a higher charred barrel? Like a 4 char?
BTW, if you go out to bourbon country, stop in for a tour at Independent Stave. Really informative.
Picked up a few of the new distillery series today. It's similar to the heritage twice barreled rye but not quite as smooth, it's 107 vs 100 proof. They said it's been aged 6 years then another 2 years in a second barrel. The main difference besides proof is the heritage twice barrel rye used a toasted barrel where this is just a normal charred barrel. Suppose to be the same mash bill.
